This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.941897

Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.1434627

Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield.

I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.1270206

After a year of use were still happy. The only thing we didn’t do, because of availability at first later it was determined that Andersen has issues was use the Andersen Hitch instead we are using the B&W Slider we have a 2022 Ram 1500 Bighorn Quad Cab with a 6.4 foot bed.

Installed hitch looks it came that way from the factory.

Difficulty level 4 out of 5 for a DIY'er working alone. The front-to-back measurement in the bed is critical for drilling the 4" hole. The measured distance given in the instructions leaves little room for error in the forward direction. Better to measure a little short, than a little long!

As advertised, there was no drilling required in the frame rails, but I did have to remove the frame alignment tabs on both sides of the bed; Sawzall or cutoff wheel required.

In the end; it was a full day's project, but well worth the effort!1429069

The high quality is apparent with this hitch. It is made well and thoroughly thought out for easiest possible install. The value is very high!

However the instructions were incorrect for the distance to drill the hole in the bed. It said 45 1/2” from end of bed. But It should have been 45 7/8” - 46”. Caused a slight issue for our install. I had to ream out the hole on the cab side to get it to fit. Which left a large 1/4” gap on the side closest to the rear of the bed. Most of these new truck have a circle area cast in them where the hidden hitch hole should go. I recommend centering your drill bit in that and drilling instead of using the measurements in the instructions. I considered doing that, but depended on the instructions instead. Bad choice! Not pleased with that! Further, the instructions don’t give torque specs.1319745

I have contacted one of our installers and have confirmed that when it comes to the measurements, they recommend following the measurements that are on the installation instructions. The factory dimple is not always centered, so its better to measure according to the instruction manual. As for the torquing specifications, on page 4 of the instructions it states that once the hitch is tight, torque 0.625 inch hardware to 150 ft. lbs. and all 0.5 inch hardware to 110 ft. lbs.

Fantastic hitch, easy install and quality parts. The latch handle came missing from the package. Emailed etrailer, took some pictures of the box and etrailer made it right by shipping a latch handle at no cost to me. This is the reason why I will continue to be a return customer.1272340

Super easy install on my 22 Ram 2500 and performs as advertised. My recommendation is to put grease on the ball if your leaving it in the receiver for an extended period of time. Seen way to many videos of the ball getting siezed in receiver. Slap some grease in there and that won’t happen. Highly recommended if you plan on getting the 5th wheel companion hitch because they really are designed to work perfectly together.

Received in terrible condition. One box was completely open at all borders and finish on hitch was chipped in multiple places. Product was shown as in stock when order was placed but wasn't shipped until the day AFTER it was supposed to be delivered. Two calls to etrailer told me it would be shipped prior to that date but obviously just trying to smooth over the situation. Installation was completed per instructions and watching etrailer [online] videos without issue. Only difficulty is torquing the bolts to final specs in tight spaces.1285988

Excellent hitch for maintaining full access to your bed when you aren’t towing. Solo installation took about one afternoon. I recommend using a hole saw for the 4 inch big hole and a step drill for the safety chain bolts. The hitch bolted to existing factory holes in the frame as advertised. I was impressed that I could still buy something that fit like this for my 1995 F-250.1535208

Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.1285769

I put B&W turnoverball on a 2016 Ram 2500 crew cab short bed diesel,it has the factory prep puck. The change over was pretty simple. I used the same studs and nuts that came with puck goose ball. Tbe only hard part was trying to pry the 4" exhaust pipe down to slide the B&W plate into position. It took me about 2 hours to install by myself. I am going to use a 4" offset ball so I can use a reese goosebox hitch for my 5th wheel.1212881

Hitch has give no problems and was easy to install.
The only issue is when loaded heavy taking off and stopping there is a significant “pop” when the load shifts. I assume is need of lubricant on the ball where it sits in the receiver1438555

Oh, we do not want to be hearing popping noises while hauling heavy trailers. Yes, you can apply grease on all 4 corners of the ball. You will also need to verify that the bolts on the gooseneck are tight and torqued to spec on the frame. You can check out some of the installation instructions for the specs. If the bolts are all tight and the grease does not help, you can contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting. I will send you their information and a copy of the instructions in an email.

If you are installing this hitch on a RAM without the OEM hitch just follow the instructions. Everything is spelled out nicely.

My first conversion from the Ram puck system to the B&W was made in order to use their offset ball. It was on a 2018 RAM 2500 and was pretty straight forward using the four factory mounting bolts rather than those supplied with the hitch. That way I didn't have to remove the truck bed.

I just finished a second conversion on a 2019 RAM single wheel 3500. It was more complicated. I understood that this hitch was intended for a RAM without the factory hitch so I spoke to B&W to make sure the 1320 could replace my Original factory hitch. I was told it would. It did fit, however I had to drill out the holes for the four vertical mounting bolts to 3/4" so I could use the factory mounting bolts. This allowed me to install the hitch without removing the truck bed. I also had to shorten the front driver side factory bolt so it would clear the ball latch lever. I used the bolts supplied with the hitch for the four horizontal bolts because the factory bolts won't fit the B&W hitch. With the above modifications everything functions as it should.

I hope this helps anyone wanting to install the B&W on a RAM with the factory puck system.1191173

With the mods mentioned in my first review. The hitch works just like the one I installed in my 2018 Ram 2500 and I am pleased with the results. However, it was more complicated to install.
