Video Transcript for Review of AceCamp Luggage Parts - FixnZip Zipper Repair Set - 3777067

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen [email protected] and we're going to be taking a quick look at The Ace Camp FixnZip Zipper Repair Kit.This comes with three different sizes of zippers to help you repair maybe a busted or broken zipper. A lot of times those zippers can come disconnected without our pole being in the way. So, we can't really zip everything up effectively, or maybe that pulls just completely off or it's got worn down. Something's happened to it. So this is going to allow us to fix that up and still be able to use our item.

These different sizes we'll work with different types of stuff. So the smallest size usually works for pants, skirts, things like that, maybe a small clutch purse or a cushion or anything that uses that smaller size. The medium size is more for jackets, maybe an actual purse zipper, and then the largest size can be for wetsuits or a just larger zipper, maybe on a cover or a soft top cover or of something like that.So let's take a closer look at these guys and see roughly how they work. So again, we'll have our small, medium and large sizes. I've got a jacket here that the zipper is working just fine, but just to show you how this works and the type of zipper that it is designed to work with, these are all meant to work with the coil and tooth style.

So it's kind of hard for you to see, but that's going to be this nylon styles zipper. So if you have a metal zipper or a chain style, this won't really work for your application, but it might be a little easier to see with that zipped up. So, on the backside you can see kind of how those teeth go together. So, that's going to be the style that this works with. So, I'm going to move this pole out of the way, so you can see how it works with the medium guy.Again, this one is going to be about the size for most of your jackets and things like that.

The packaging for this is it's one of the few times where the packaging actually kind of matters. It does have a little guide for the sizes and also for the different sorts of things that you might use each particular size on. Most items will have a number on the back of that zipper pole. So it gives you a clue as the size, but again, if that zipper pole has fallen off, gotten lost, you don't have access to that information anymore. So there is a little chart as well, so you can match up the size and figure out which size you need or which one's going to work best.

So what I'm doing here is just loosening the knob up at the top so I can get both sides of my zipper in, and this is going to be an open-end styles zipper. So it's a little easier to use, but we're basically just going to push that all the way back down into the block. That's that piece at the end. And I'm going to tighten this down fairly tight so that it's going to get those teeth to mesh together. It's okay. If that happens, just use it like a regular zipper and push that in to the block again, may need to loosen and tighten as you go to get it where it needs to be. And I was kind of playing with this before I had to adjust the tightness until it would actually engage those teeth. So again, just takes a little bit of finessing once you get it should meld those teeth together. It's not going to be necessarily as clean as the original zipper, but it is functional. So you can still use it keeps set those teeth together works just fine. And you can again use this as a replacement for a zipper that's come off or just use it to get those teeth to meld together so that you can get the pole where it needs to go. And that's basically how it's going to work for any of those sizes. It's a little bit different if it's not an open-ended or if it's a closed zipper type, but again, the packaging is important there because it is going to have some instructions on how to do that. So be sure to hold onto those, don't throw them away, keep them around because they are pretty handy to let you know how to use these guys.I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right kit for you. I think it's smart to get this one since it's going to have those three different sizes. So if you just have this on hand for any kind of gear, throw it maybe in your sewing box. The nice thing about this kit is that it doesn't require any kind of sewing to repair the zippers. It's just a matter of adjusting the tension on that little spring for each one. As far as sizes, they are designed to work with the different size. So here's our packaging. We can use it from one through four is going to be the smaller zipper five through seven is the medium and then eight through 10. And that, again, corresponds that number on the back of your zipper. And I'm going to find the end of this guy, so I can show you that on my jacket here. And it's actually on that block. So it's going to be really hard for you guys to see that. There's a little number five on that block there. So that's the number I'm talking about as far as which one to correspond with this chart. But again, if you don't have that can use these little rulers up the top of that packaging to match up with the one that you need. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Ace Camp FixnZip Zipper Repair Kit. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you. Again, I'm Ellen [email protected] Thanks for watching.
