Video Transcript for ASA Advent Air RV Air Conditioners Coleman Mach Adapter Wiring Kit Review

Hey guys, Kevin with etrailer. And today I'm gonna be talking about the Advent Air RV AC wiring harness adapter. If you own a Coleman or a older model RV AC unit where it has a heat pump in it, you're gonna notice that your connector has a nine pin connection. A lot of the newer rooftop models really just don't come with that heat pump anymore. It's only gonna be a six pin model. So the way to replace our rooftop unit without having to replace our entire system our air distribution box, and our wall thermostat is to use one of these wiring harnesses, which will allow you to plug into that nine pin connector that's on your controller.

And then that six pin connector that's on the rooftop unit. If you look at your connector on your AC unit, you'll notice it has these rounded connection points with flat edges on it. And that's gonna match up perfectly with our connector so that you can only plug it in one specific way. Go ahead and pop that together. And then when you look at your nine pin it's gonna be square with a rounded top.

So we wanna make sure that we're placing it on our controller the exact same way. Otherwise it's not gonna connect. Now with switching from a six pin to a nine pin in our wiring harness, we are losing that ability to have a heat pump. But with our unit today, it doesn't have one anyway, so no real loss there. Well, I think that about does it for today's look at our Advent Air RV AC wiring harness adaptor.

My name's Kevin. Thanks for watching..

Etrailer made it easy by listing the air-conditioners that would fit my rv. They also listed the parts that I would need in addition to the air-conditioner. Their videos helped me install it.
The air-contioner was easy to install. It works very well and is about the same noise level as the Coleman Mach 8 low profile that it replaced.

etrailer charged me [XX] dollars just to send back this item after I told them it was no longer needed and this product only cost [XX] dollars and I paid [XX] dollars to have it shipped to me. What a rip off. Half of the item was paid for in shipping fees alone. This is why I only order at Amazon if I can help it. Your return policy is garbage.

by:

Would have given 5 stars, but will call wasn’t an option. Kinda sucks cause I work just up the street, would have been nice to pick up what I needed as opposed to waiting for shipping. That being said I have always been happy with the products I’ve received from Etrailer, and the adapter kit worked perfectly!

by:

Delivery personnel dented the first delivery, apparently with fork lift as it deformed the a/ c unit in two different locations. Robert was right on top of the situation. Started the replacement before I even got the pictures sent to him. I’ve always received excellent service from Robert and etrailer. They will continue to get my patronage.
Thanks Robert B

People at etrailer are very helpful . One side note that could have made the order easier . Get familiar with different units and what is required to install in advance of shipping a product . Also installation pamphlet should be included without asking for it . Would have saved me 2 weeks of waiting and doing my own research

by:

Almost a direct replacement for Coleman Mach. Easy to install hardest part was getting it in top of the rv.

by:

The AC was easy to install, affordable, and works great! I had to make a couple of modifications to the install instructions, but they were pretty straight forward. I will definitely use etrailer for my next rv purchase!

Doesn't work with Coleman Mach system. Ended up buying two trim packages with two new cheap stats. Note you have to run power wire to stats.

by:

This made installing a replacement AC in our Forest River camper a breeze (pun intended :-D)

by:

everything arrived in good shape

by:

The part was so good I had to order another one for my second air condition I bought two new ACS and they forgot to tell me I need a pigtail I got it coming

by:

The salesperson was knowledgeable and professional and we got a replacement AC for half of what a dealership was asking.

by:

As advertised. It made the finishing touches on getting our A/C up and running for summer vacations. Came with the hardware & useful templates for smooth installation. Quick shipping. Thank you etrailer.com!

  • Recommendation to Replace Older Coleman AC on RV
Your best option to replace the Coleman AC unit in your 2000 Tiffin Allegro is with the Advent Air # ACM150 along with the Coleman Adapter Kit # ACCOLKIT. This wiring adapter kit should allow for a plug-and-play installation when replacing the unit. I did reach out to my contact at Advent Air to see about compatibility with older Coleman units like what is on your Tiffin Allegro. He said unfortunately Coleman doesn't release to them when or if they change their connection type over the...

  • Will Advent Air Conditioner Easily Replace Airxcel Coleman Mach Air Condtioner
When you say unit, I believe you are talking about the Advent 13,500 Btu RV Air Conditioner part # ACM135 that you looked at but please let me know if you are asking about another air conditioner. The Advent Air RV air conditioner will plug into your existing wiring if the Airxcel air conditioner is a Coleman Mach (manufactured by Airxcel) air conditioner. You will need the wiring adapter part # ACCOLKIT. Then you will be able to reuse the thermostat and air distribution box if you have...

  • AC unit for 1999 Coleman Utah Pop Up Trailer
If you are adding an AC to the roof of your Coleman Utah you will need to reinforce the roof so that it can withstand the weight of the AC unit. This will also help with the thickness of your roof because most popup campers are not 2-1/2" thick, which is required for AC installations. Whether you are adding or replacing an AC the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner is a nice addition to your Coleman Utah. The 13,500 btu model will put out enough air to help keep you comfortable on your trip...

  • Will the Advent Air Conditioner Work with my Coleman Wiring
The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner part # ACM135 will work out great and require zero modification if you use the Coleman Mach Adapter Wiring Kit for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners part # ACCOLKIT with it. This is designed to convert the Coleman signals over the the Advent so it works using all of the original wiring. They will use the same hole size in the roof as well so no modifications there either.

  • Recommended Replacement RV Air Conditioner For A Dometic Duo-Therm RV Air Conditioner
Determining replacement of a rooftop condenser unit is really simple. All you'll need to do is remove the cover of your air distribution box to get a look at your system's controller. There will a wire harness that hangs down from the condenser unit and plugs into the controller. On some models they will also mount it inside of the condenser unit (seen in my video below) so if you don't see it in between the air distribution box and condenser then you'll need to get up on the roof and remove...

  • Recommended Replacement AC Unit For A Coleman Mach On A 2000 Mesa Pop Up Camper
Though I do have an alternative option available, we do not carry the Coleman Mach line of AC units. We do occasionally have used parts listed, but unfortunately, internal parts for these cannot be mixed and matched between manufacturers. With that said, you will either need to find Mach parts to repair your current AC, or fully replace your unit. We do have the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 that is a direct replacement for Coleman Mach ACs if used with the adapter wiring kit...
