Hi, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. Today, we have the ARB Horizontal Single Jerry Can Holder for your ARB roof trays. Now, I do like how ARB has different options for how you may want to carry around your jerry can, but this is gonna be what I would recommend if you want something that's gonna be a bit more low profile. The way this works is that it carries your jerry can in the horizontal position. So while it does take up a tad bit more space up on your tray, it also means that your jerry can isn't facing up and catching all the wind. To help you figure out if this will work for you as well as with all the other cargo you're planning on carrying on your tray, here's the measurements.

So for width, that's gonna be seven and a half inches. For a length, that's gonna be 19 and a quarter inches. And then for the height, that's gonna be four inches without the jerry can on there. Now it does stick out where you attach your eye bolts, but that's just gonna be your standard dovetail clamps for your ARB accessories. True to my first impressions on ARB accessories, this is functional, but also easy to use.

This is made of steel, but it's also on the lightweight side because of its open cage design. Now that steel is covered with that black powder coat finish, and that's because if you wanna leave this on your roof for an extended period of time, you can. That finish is there to help resist corrosion. And with how it stays tightened down onto the slats of your tray, we have a strong and sturdy feel. Another great feature with this is how easy it is to install and move around your tray.

Now, you do have options. You technically can install this over one slat, but for a best experience, installing it between two slats will give you the most sturdiness. Once you've decided where you want this on your roof, the way I install this is I like to have all the pieces apart and just attach them to the carrier. I'm just gonna put the top clamp first and then I fit the bottom clamp so that way the bolt is sticking up, top that with a flat washer and then the eye bolt. (metal clanking) The alternative method of installing is to loosen your top nut until you can slide both clamps on.

But this can be a little tricky just because the threads are so short, so you don't have much space to work with. And when you have two clamps on, that makes it even a tighter fit. Whichever way you prefer for installing the clamps, once they're on there, you can then slide your carrier around to wherever you want it on your tray, and then once you pick your spot, tighten those down till it's all secure and now you're ready to load your jerry can up. We put our jerry can in our carrier. We're ratcheting it down with our included ratchet strap, can tie off the excess off to the back and that's how you use your ARB carrier. So for my overall impressions, this definitely stays true to the whole functional, but also very easy to install perks of an ARB accessory. I like how if I do need to carry around a jerry can during my adventures, I can very easily put this on, move it around the tray for wherever it needs to go, and take it right back off if I need to carry something else.
