Today we are going to be installing the universal 4-Flat connector part number 18144 in conjunction with our universal short bracket part 18140. With our wire already routed outside of the vehicle we'll go ahead and install the 4-flat mounting bracket on the universal mounting bracket. We'll use the supplied hardware to secure it. With our two screws tightened down, take the worm clamp and secure directly to the hitch. Now we've got that tightened down, I'll go ahead and take a pair of tin snips and cut off the excess from the clamp. With the clamp secure we'll go ahead and route the 4 pole through the 4-Flat mounting bracket and input the cap on the end of our 4 pole.
And there you have it with the installation of tow ready 4-flat connector part number 18144 along with our tow ready universal short bracket part number 18140.

Included hose clamp secures bracket to your trailer hitch.Easy to install. Just double check that you’ve got the fastener strap the correct way round so you’re not tightening it at an awkward angle. It would be easiest to install this on the hitch before attacking the hitch to your car, which I did not do.
The electrical mounting bracket worked good but was a little hard to get it in place around the receiver hitch.
The bracket is simple and works great. The clamp is a worthless piece of junk. I had to go to a hardware store and buy a decent clamp.
Easy to install, works exactly as advertised. Had to modify the installation slightly to clear the spare tire, but it was easy.

Michael - 01/14/2023This product is a great idea, but, it cannot be used on the hitch in the application I purchased for. You might think "E Trailer" would know, given the research they put into which hitch is needed and for what vehicle, that the "No Drill Mounting Bracket" will not work unless you want to climb underneath your vehicle to plug in the wiring harness. I guess they don't know, or are hoping you buy the item anyway. ???

I bought a new truck that didn’t have a factory-installed hitch. Paid the dealer to put one on. They left off a small detail that to me was not small—a retaining bracket for the wiring plug. I went on line to look for one, and I found what I needed here. It was perfect, reasonably priced—very much so—and it arrived quickly and in perfect order. I’m going to bookmark this web address for when I need something more.
Sturdy piece of items here. Had to mount bracket(s) on receiver hitch area due to another flat location being (my opinion) too far from receiver area. It all worked out. Product seems good. Packaging was terrible, the part was just put in the big box with the hitch. How it didn't get damaged is nothing short of a miracle. I oreded 3 parts with t he hitch and 1 was lost during shipping. I told the seller and I was insulted by them. I believe I know how to look in a box and find the parts inside. Maybe the small bracket went out one od the two hand holes or t he gaping hole the hitch made in the box. Packaging was sad. A hitch in a cardboard box with no enter packing, then my 3 other parts threw in the box separately. They already have my money, they don't care what damage is done in shipping. Most are not going to send it back because some of the paint was rubbed off.

The expert advice and shopping guidance I received was phenomenal. Prior to my call with e.trailer I'd spent 3+ hours fumbling around at various sellers trying to decide what I needed, and didn't need. I spent about 30 minutes with the e.trailer rep and got all my questions answered, items purchased, delivered, and saved money!
Very happy I ordered the part along with the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat. you don't have to come up with a rig on your own. However, the hose clamp is easy to strip so be careful. I used a large zip tie as an added precaution in case the hose clamp gives way.
Everything was easy to use. The only issue I had was the plate for the lag bolts wasn’t wide enough and the bolt was free spinning. I was able to use a pair of vise grips and open ended wrench to tighten it down. Other than that great prosuct.
Works as advertised. Wish it was offered as a kit instead of separately from the connector bracket.
This was installed on a round tube hitch for a 2015 Honda Odyssey. Everything installed easily and the clamp was simple to use. I would think this bracket would sit nicer on a square tube simply due to the flatter surface, so if you install with a round tube, just be sure to keep it level as you tighten up on the clamp.
Very easy! Just take care not to drop any clips or bolts. Instructions didn't mention the 3 10mm bolts you have to remove to pull the trim panel away.
Great company. I submitted an email about which items I needed to purchse for my vehicle. I got a prompt and complete response to my inquiry. The follwing day,while placing my order I had an issue. So, I replied to the original email request for clarification. While waiting for I response I seen the customer service phone number so I called and got an immediate answer to my issue. After the phone call I placed my order. The next day I received a reponse to my email with an apology for not getting back to me due to him being off for the holiday. Then after the items are delivered I get another email letting me know that the items have been delivered not from the delivery company but the purchasing company. This company helped me and kept in contact with me, every step of the way.

When I ordered this No-Drill mount I did not understand that an additional piece was needed. this item is only a horizontal bracket to which a vertical bracket must be attached. Since I did not order the vertical piece and since my Curt hitch is round, I decided not to use it at all. I just attached the plug end of the wiring harness to the hitch as suggested in the video. Bottom line- I did not even unpack this part. The postage cost makes it not worth returning.
This works great and looks great on my 2021 Ford Escape hybrid. The short version of this bracket was the perfect length. It holds strong to the hitch and securely holds the wiring connector. My only complaint is about etrailer. They recommended the long bracket in the video detailing the harness installation and after installing it, it was way too long and looked ridiculous. The short version was the perfect length.
This bracket fit the new hitch OK but due to the "hidden" hitch style it had to be mounted closer to the hitch than desirable. Therefore I had to bend the harness mounting bracket (item 18144) to clear the hitch pin.
Installed the Universal Bracket (18140) and 4-Pole Flat Mounting Bracket (18144) in about ten minutes. It keeps my new trailer light wiring kit from hanging loose. Added a wire/cable shield to keep the wires from rubbing against anything. Super easy installation and the extra protection should extend the service life by years. I recommend this product.
I couldn't use this on my 2001 F-150 trailer light hook-up installation. BUT, it worked GREAT to attach a Orange Triangle "slow moving vehicle" sign on the rollbar of my old Kubota tractor. WITH no drilling into the rollbar (a NO-NO).....
