The built-in shock absorbers on these (4) 1-1/2" ratchet straps compensate for the movement of your UTV's suspension so that each strap stays tight around the UTV, even on rough roads. Zinc-coated S-hooks have retention clips. 3K Max load.

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.
This one-of-a-kind tie-down kit is perfect for strapping down your UTV to your truck bed or trailer. It includes 4 cam straps with built-in shocks to keep the straps tight around your UTV so that you won't have to stop and tighten them while traveling.
Unlike traditional straps, which don't stretch or contract, these tie-downs are uniquely designed with built-in shock absorbers that allow each strap to maintain constant tension on your bike as you travel. These are great for UTVs, which have bouncing suspension systems that can compress and rebound when you travel rough terrain.
The webbing of standard straps can't stretch or contract to absorb impacts. As a result, standard tie-downs might become detached from their anchor, or they become slack around your UTV as it shifts.
But these ratcheting straps each feature a built-in urethane shock that's designed to absorb impact and to allow give. This ensures that the tie-down stays taut and won't loosen over time. The built-in shock helps to keep the tie-down from coming loose or failing, which could result in lost or damaged toys.
In addition, the shocks ensure a longer life for the strap webbing. The constant compressing and rebounding of your UTV's suspension during travel can wreak havoc on ordinary straps. The webbing is likely to experience more wear and tear as it rubs along your gear. But the ShockStrap's shocks absorb these jolts so that the webbing of the tie-downs stays put instead of wearing over the edges of your equipment.
Once your UTV is loaded in your truck or on your trailer, engage its parking brake. Next, you'll want to scope out 4 anchor points on the UTV, preferably on its frame.
Attaching the tie-downs to the frame is ideal. The tension from the straps on this part of the vehicle will compress the UTV's suspension just enough (about halfway) to maintain tension when you hit bumps on the road. The tension should prevent sway and bouncing, which could otherwise loosen the straps or allow them to become detached from their anchor points.
There are 4 straps included in this kit - 2 for use on the front of your UTV and 2 for use on the rear. When you attach the tie-down straps to your truck or trailer, be sure to anchor them so that the UTV is pulled down at all 4 corners.
To use these tie-downs, attach one of the durable hooks to a desired anchor point on your truck or trailer. Use the built-in retention clip to make sure that the hook doesn't detach from the anchor. Then secure the other hook to a point on the UTV.
There are soft loops built into each strap as well, so that you can tie down your UTV without having to worry about the metal hooks or hardware of the straps potentially scratching or scuffing it. To use the soft loops, simply cinch the strap around a secure location on the UTV, and run the tie-down's hook through the loop.
Once the hooks are in place, tighten the webbing around the load and activate the shocks. To tighten each strap, crank the ratchet mechanism until the webbing is taut around your UTV. Be sure not to overtighten the strap. If your hand cannot fit between the shock and the safety strap, the strap is too tight.
To activate the shocks, tighten the straps a bit more, stretching the shocks until light is visible through the bolt holes in each shock. In warm climates, the shocks can stretch up to 2", while in subzero climates you may only get about 1/2" of give.
Once the straps have been tightened and the shocks have been activated, just make sure your UTV is completely secure and then tie off any extra slack.
The sturdy, UV-resistant polyester webbing of these tie-down straps has a high tolerance for abrasion and water absorption.
The shocks are made of urethane, which can withstand elements such as sunlight, saltwater, moisture, oil, fungi, and most chemicals. These shocks can function in nearly any temperature, holding up to hot and cold weather conditions without losing elasticity or becoming unyielding or brittle over time.
The rust-resistant, yellow zinc chromate coating on the ratchet and hardware holds up to the varying weather conditions.
A safety strap is also built into each tie-down to provide peace of mind should something happen to the shock. This safety strap ensures that if the tie-downs are used improperly, overloaded, or unduly stretched, your UTV will remain secured.
