The built-in shock absorbers on these (4) 1-1/2" ratchet straps compensate for the movement of your UTV's suspension so that each strap stays tight around the UTV, even on rough roads. Zinc-coated S-hooks have retention clips. 3K Max load.

    • Sturdy Grade 8 bolts and nylock nuts hold shocks in place

    • Rubber coating on hooks prevents scratches and scuffs on your UTV, truck, or trailer
    • Retention clips keep the hooks connected to anchor points

Specs:

  • Dimensions: 1-1/2" wide x 7' long
  • Minimum usable length: 29"
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 1,000 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 3,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 4 ratchet straps
  • 2-Year warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

ShockStrap UTV Tie-Down Kit

This one-of-a-kind tie-down kit is perfect for strapping down your UTV to your truck bed or trailer. It includes 4 cam straps with built-in shocks to keep the straps tight around your UTV so that you won't have to stop and tighten them while traveling.

Unlike traditional straps, which don't stretch or contract, these tie-downs are uniquely designed with built-in shock absorbers that allow each strap to maintain constant tension on your bike as you travel. These are great for UTVs, which have bouncing suspension systems that can compress and rebound when you travel rough terrain.

Built-In Shocks

The webbing of standard straps can't stretch or contract to absorb impacts. As a result, standard tie-downs might become detached from their anchor, or they become slack around your UTV as it shifts.

But these ratcheting straps each feature a built-in urethane shock that's designed to absorb impact and to allow give. This ensures that the tie-down stays taut and won't loosen over time. The built-in shock helps to keep the tie-down from coming loose or failing, which could result in lost or damaged toys.

In addition, the shocks ensure a longer life for the strap webbing. The constant compressing and rebounding of your UTV's suspension during travel can wreak havoc on ordinary straps. The webbing is likely to experience more wear and tear as it rubs along your gear. But the ShockStrap's shocks absorb these jolts so that the webbing of the tie-downs stays put instead of wearing over the edges of your equipment.

How to Use the ShockStrap UTV Tie-Down System

Once your UTV is loaded in your truck or on your trailer, engage its parking brake. Next, you'll want to scope out 4 anchor points on the UTV, preferably on its frame.

Back view of an UTV tied down using the 7-foot ratcheting ShockStrap tie downs

Attaching the tie-downs to the frame is ideal. The tension from the straps on this part of the vehicle will compress the UTV's suspension just enough (about halfway) to maintain tension when you hit bumps on the road. The tension should prevent sway and bouncing, which could otherwise loosen the straps or allow them to become detached from their anchor points.

There are 4 straps included in this kit - 2 for use on the front of your UTV and 2 for use on the rear. When you attach the tie-down straps to your truck or trailer, be sure to anchor them so that the UTV is pulled down at all 4 corners.

To use these tie-downs, attach one of the durable hooks to a desired anchor point on your truck or trailer. Use the built-in retention clip to make sure that the hook doesn't detach from the anchor. Then secure the other hook to a point on the UTV.

There are soft loops built into each strap as well, so that you can tie down your UTV without having to worry about the metal hooks or hardware of the straps potentially scratching or scuffing it. To use the soft loops, simply cinch the strap around a secure location on the UTV, and run the tie-down's hook through the loop.

Once the hooks are in place, tighten the webbing around the load and activate the shocks. To tighten each strap, crank the ratchet mechanism until the webbing is taut around your UTV. Be sure not to overtighten the strap. If your hand cannot fit between the shock and the safety strap, the strap is too tight.

Activated 7-foot ratcheting ShockStrap tie down

To activate the shocks, tighten the straps a bit more, stretching the shocks until light is visible through the bolt holes in each shock. In warm climates, the shocks can stretch up to 2", while in subzero climates you may only get about 1/2" of give.

Once the straps have been tightened and the shocks have been activated, just make sure your UTV is completely secure and then tie off any extra slack.

Strong, Durable Construction

The sturdy, UV-resistant polyester webbing of these tie-down straps has a high tolerance for abrasion and water absorption.

The shocks are made of urethane, which can withstand elements such as sunlight, saltwater, moisture, oil, fungi, and most chemicals. These shocks can function in nearly any temperature, holding up to hot and cold weather conditions without losing elasticity or becoming unyielding or brittle over time.

The rust-resistant, yellow zinc chromate coating on the ratchet and hardware holds up to the varying weather conditions.

A safety strap is also built into each tie-down to provide peace of mind should something happen to the shock. This safety strap ensures that if the tie-downs are used improperly, overloaded, or unduly stretched, your UTV will remain secured.

Way better than standard tie downs. Holds better if you tighten enough as compared to standard tie down and does not slack up

Best strap I have had for timing down my Polaris Ranger!

I still feel that these are the best straps. Using them on tractors as well our Ranger. I recommend these to everyone!

by:

I ordered these to strap down an ATV for several hour highway trips during hunting season. They work great and my atv does not bounce around and loosen the straps like traditional ratchet straps do. I've recommended to several friends who have also ordered and have the same success. Great product!

by:

These straps are great. The are strong and allow for some movement of the motorcycles without have the straps break or come loose. The Harley was transported to Las Vegas and back, 2500 miles with no issues.

by:

Excellent product. The heat does cause the rubber coating on the hooks if they're tied down for any length of time. Sometimes the locking mechanism gets stuck in an in-between position and it's difficult to unlock; however, these are still the best straps I've ever had and I've had zero load shifting problems or broken straps. I will definitely buy a second set.

by:

Awesome product, performs better than I expected. Super strong and built well. Well worth the money invested.

by:

Heavy duty straps straped my utv down made a 2 hour trip they stayed tight just like they advertise had good promt service with etrailer they are more expensive than some other straps but very much worth it

Good product works like advertised

They do not slip

by:

I love these straps! They don't come loose and hold the SXS really well. Much better than standard straps! Standard straps would come loose on my SXS, these do not. I like the length, so I'm not tying off long ends. The loops give great flexibility too. Great straps, highly recommended and would buy again. My only question/concern is how long the "rubber" shock part will last. Don't know if over time it will crack or sun will harm, etc. But other than that they are great.

Still the best tie downs Ive found. Would buy again!

by:

These tie downs have been excellent. Use them to tie down our ATV, and our zero turning radius mower without any issues whatsoever. Used the tie downs frequently over the summer/fall months with confidence over very hilly terrain. Keep them clean or clean up if you get them dirty, then store where not exposed to the elements and should last for years.

Excellent, very durable and only minor wear showing after too many uses to remember.

by:

Great straps. Bery strong and I like the shock. I think customers that do a lot of shopping with etrailer should be given a discount on their next purchase!

Great, no complaints. I use the tie downs 5-6 times a year. They always stay tight.

Straps continue to work well. Highly reommend!

by:

I trailer my golding trike from MN to AZ or TX every winter.
Other tie downs tended to loosen up during the trip allowing my bike to move around.
These shock straps ABSOLUTELY stay tight and hold during the 1200 or 1500 mile trips!
TOTALLY recommend to all!!

by:

Best tiedown straps I have ever used! I have tried many others. I have [an ATV] strapped to a utility trailer. All other straps that I have used loosened up because of the suspension on the side-by-side. These straps hold very tight and have not had any problem with that them. I highly recommend the straps.

by:

these are by far the best straps I have ever used! I use these to strap down my ATV as well as my golf cart. Before I began using these I had trouble with straps workjng their way loose due to the flex in the suspension of my cargo. Now that i am using these the rubber "shock asorber" allows for the strap to give just enough. My cargo stays put and my strap stays tight and secure. They are well worth the money!

by:

These are truly game changers on a long trip! They worked great!!!! Best Tie Downs Ever!!

Phenomenal Product!

by:

Excellent customer service. Very fast shipping, ordered 8 straps but only got 7. No big deal it happens. Called customer service and they sent me another right away! the shock straps are amazing, its nice going into trails that have ruff roads and not have to worry about regular ratchet straps loosening up!

by:

I have had a chance to use the tie downs on two round trips to deer woods towing our Honda Pioneer 1000-5. They worked flawlessly, the straps I used before would come loose on occasion when crossing bridges with a sharp dip. I highly recommend these tie down straps.

by:

I ordered the 14 foot ratchet straps for my UTV and my trailer, the straps were too long,so I had to send them back and get shorter ones and Geoffrey was a great help in getting me the 7 foot straps and sending me a shipping label to send back the long straps, which worked perfectly. Everything went great and I was able to get everything taken care of and shipping was very prompt

by:

These ShockStraps are whey better than anything you can buy from the hardware store. Much more heavy duty, and the constant tension balances out any shifting that your cargo may do on the trailer.

by:

Stunning. Ultra thick nylon straps, quality ratchet. The rubber cushion works exactly as advertised, I don’t have to tighten them nearly as much as regular straps. Bike seems to float on the back of my truck. Well done, truly

by:

Best tie downs made , good price for what you get . I carry a 13 ft boat in my toy box . It use to end up against the wall or ice maker . With many trips now that boat has never moved 1/4 of an inch . The safety clip on each end really works too . I love em , will never buy anything different .

by:

Haven't used them yet but for the price I certainly hope they are worth it. Appear to be the answer to what I have been looking for. Has been a pain tying down our UTV for several years with breaking straps or them coming loose while traveling over bumpy roads.

by:

Great product when they work as designed. Unfortunately one of the ratchet handle assembly units would not operate properly. I was lucky to have one the right size that I could adapt to fit the strap, now it works perfectly. With a higher quality ratchet these straps are awesome

by:

I bought them for my snowmobile but they were too long for it but they are well made and I will use them for my bike sooner or later
