  • Recommended Drum Brake Actuator For A 4,000 Lb. Trailer
I do have an option available for you however, I cannot recommend modifying your brake actuator. There are two main factors to consider when choosing a brake actuator. The first being the type of brake actuator, such as an actuator for disc brakes or an actuator for drum brakes. You can also pull the breakaway to see if that engages the brakes but there is not a manual that I am aware of. If the brakes don't engage then you will want to look for leaks or check for broken pieces. We currently offer the following replacement...

  • Replacement Parts for Balcrank 16006 Brake Actuator
To replace your surge brakes there are a few things you'll need to know, the first being if you have drum or disc brakes. You can then choose the correct disc or drum brake assembly; you'll need to know your axle capacity and wheel size for either. You will also need to know your bolt flange pattern and drum size if you have drum brakes. You will then need the correct brake actuator and a brake line kit, which is going to be different if you have disc or drum brakes. I have added links...
