Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bulldog heavy duty, cast set coupler, with a wedge latch. The heavy duty coupler is ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. It's made from a steel construction and comes with a gray primer finish, allows you to easily paint the trailer coupler to whatever color you want. It's going to feature a wedge style latch, very secure, very easy to use. To open it up, you just lift up on this little trigger. Open the latch, and you can see how that moves that wedge to an open position to receive hitch ball.
I do want to mention that the latch up here, does not stay in the open position. To get it to stay in the open position, you would simply just insert a coupler pin through there, and that would hold it into the open position, and then once you're connected, you would remove the pin, allow the latch to drop, and really that's all there is to it. Very secure, very easy to use. Now, if you're in need of a coupler pin, or a coupler lock, you can find those at eTrailer.com, they are sold separately. The pinhole diameter right here, for a coupler pin, or a coupler lock, is going to be five sixteenths of an inch. Then the width of that area, from edge to edge, it's going to measure about one inch, you need to make sure that that pin has a usable pin length, or a span of at least one inch.
The unit also features a built-in jack attachment point, that allows for quick, easy mounting of a standard, round utility jack. The mount holes are already there, they're already threaded, they're going to be spaced around three inches apart on center, which is like an industry standard. Again, they are threaded for easy installation and mounting, hardware mounting, hardware not included. This is designed to be a weld-on installation, it welds to your A frame. It's designed for fifty degree, A frame trailer tongues. It's designed to receive a two inch hitch ball.
We take a measurement of the length real quick, from very back, to very front, that's going to give us a measurement of about seventeen and five eighths of an inch. Again, that's from the very back of the unit, to the very front of the unit. The hole right here for your jack, that's going to give us a diameter of two and one quarter inches, and this coupler has a capacity of eight thousand pounds. That's going to do it for today's look at the Bulldog heavy duty, cast head coupler with a wedge latch.

This is great, the only thing about it is that the locking device gets stuck and I have to hit it with something hard to release the ball but this is a great coupler. 719401

Shipped to us extremely fast and in great shape. Exactly as described. Only suggestion would be to have an option to not have the last inch or so painted. We are cutting off our old tongue and welding on this one, we need to strip the paint off to weld properly. No big deal but would be a nice option. Great product! 163347
