Forged, Self-Latching Jaw

Self-Latching Jaw

The one-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel hitch provides absolute security with its wraparound design. Increased jaw-to-king-pin contact results in not only a stronger connection, but less noisy rattling and stiff chucking as well.

The jaw is also always ready to receive, so you don't need to use the handle to open it before backing up toward your trailer. As long as the bail pin is removed from the latching handle, the jaw will accept the king pin as it enters the hitch.

Finally, the jaw is self-latching, so it will automatically secure your trailer's king pin when it moves into the jaw.

Quiet, Comfortable Ride

Pivot Bushings

In addition to the tight jaw tolerance, a close connection between the head and the pivot bushings further reduces rattle and movement. And because the pivot bushings are independent from the head, they can be tightened to ensure a strong connection over time.

King Pin Indicator Prevents High Pinning

King Pin Indicator

This M5 hitch features a built-in king pin indicator to ensure proper hookup. This indicator is located on the back of the head along with a V-shaped notch that are both visible from the cab of your truck. The V-notch is lined up with the jaw at the front of the hitch, and can be used as a guiding point to line the king pin up with the jaw as you back up your truck. The jaw also has an internal plate that keeps the king pin from entering if it is too high to enter safely. As a result, the king pin indicator will only change from red to green if the king pin is fully engaged in the jaw.

Easy-to-Use Latching Handle

Lever and Hitch

This hitch's handle is designed for smooth motion and effortless operation. It requires only 2 fingers to use and won't bind up as you pull. In addition, the handle is long, so it's easy to access from outside of your truck bed. And the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold and pull from different angles.

Video Transcript for Review of Reese - Fifth Wheel - RP30923

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement legs for the Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, for the Ford Super Duty trucks. Now this is a custom-fit part. These are designed to fit the 2011 and newer Ford F250, F350, and F450 Super Duty trucks with the eight foot bed, and the OEM prep package, and on a custom-fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website and use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application.Let me just turn this so you can see them a little bit better. Now these replacement legs will fit your Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch on the Ford Super Duty factory fifth wheel towing prep package. That hitch part number is RP30921. We do sell that hitch separately on our website.

Basically these are just the legs of that hitch, and these'll mount to the center section of the Reese M5 hitch, and allows you to install the hitch onto the Ford OEM prep package. It does come with all the hardware you need to bolt these legs to the center section, nice set of detailed instructions. It's a very quick, simple installation, once these are installed onto the hitch itself, then the whole hitch can drop right into the four receiver pucks that are built into your factory underbed rails.Just to show you how you install it, basically, there's these linchpins, one on each side. And you take the linchpin off, and then the one over there. And then you open up these handles 90 degrees, and when you do that, it rotates these tabs into the open position, and you do the same over here. With them in that position, all you do is drop the whole hitch into the factory pucks.

Once they drop in, you just close the handles. And it rotates it 90 degrees and locks it into the underbed system. And then just put your linchpin back in. Same over here. Everything I'm doing over here, you do the same on this side. Now, sometimes due to the differences in truck underbeds, these handles may be loose or too tight.

And these castle nuts right here can be adjusted. You take the counter pin out, turn this, tighten or loosen it, dependent on what you need for your application. And then they include the four new counter pins that you can put back through there. So it's very simple installation. But that should do it for the review on the replacement legs for the Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch for the Ford Super Duty trucks.

  • Rail Kit Recommendation for 2013 Ford F-350 For Fitting Signature Series Reese Hitch
What you need is the Elite underbed fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30126 which is confirmed as a fit for your 2013 Ford F-350 and is the style of rail kit your Signature Series hitch needs. You will also need the # RP58419 which is an adapter for the feet of your hitch so they fit the Elite rails.

  • Under Bed 5th Wheel Installation Kit and Hitch for a 2017 Ford F-250 4x4 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed
There are below the bed 5th wheel installation kits for the 2017 Ford F-250; just not any Reese kits. The reason for that is Reese makes the factory under bed install kit for Ford so they tend not to release an aftermarket kit right away (or at all in some cases) which gives Ford exclusivity to it. If you do not already have a Reese Elite Series hitch then you can go with one of the other under bed kits and a hitch for it. I would need to know the bed length of your truck and if it is...

  • Will the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit Work on a 2024 Ford F-350 w/out the Puck System?
Hey Tom! I am sorry but the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit item # RP30126 only fits up to the 2016 model years and no one makes a comparable after market puck system for the 2024 F-350's. For an autoslider set up you will have to add a set of 5th wheel rails to your truck bed. The PullRite Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails item # PUL99RR is custom fit for your F-350 and installs in predrilled holes in the frame. • Trailer Hitch Options for a 2012 Ford F-350 With Factory 5th Wheel Prep Package
The fifth wheel prep package that you have on your 2012 Ford F-350 is compatible with the Reese M5 Series fifth wheel hitches. There are two M5 Series fifth wheel hitches that are available, the M5 Series 20K hitch and the M5 Series 27K hitch, # RP30922. If your fifth wheel trailer weighs more than 18,000 lbs when it is fully loaded, then I recommend the 27K hitch. If you have a short bed truck you'll also need to use a sidewinder pin box to push the pivot point of your trailer back 22"...

  • Best 5th Wheel Hitch Options for Ease of Towing with a 2016 Ford F-250 with a 6-3/4' Bed
Thank you for all of the information! Since you are looking to install the under-bed rail kit we will start there and then select a 5th wheel hitch after that. For your 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty with the 6-3/4' bed we have the Reese Elite Series Kit # RP30126 for just the 4 pucks or the Kit # RP30138-26 which has the 4 pucks plus the center puck for a gooseneck hitch ball. These kits are identical to each other (aside from the gooseneck connection) and with the Ford OEM puck system. When...

In order to achieve your goal of using the Reese 16K 5th Wheel Hitch with an under bed mounting kit on your 2015 Ford F-250 with the 6-3/4' bed you are going to need to use both the Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Install Kit part # RP30126 and the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter part # RP30156. • Can I Use Andersen Ultimate Hitch With My Reese Sidewinder
I do have an option for you but the Reese Sidewinder king pin like part # RP34FR is not compatible with the Andersen Ultimate Hitch like part # AM3200 because the Sidewinders are not compatible with adapters or hitches that only have one center point of attachment. The Sidewinder puts too much torque on adapters and requires a fixed hitch with 4 points of contact. • Is a Sidewinder Required for a 2011 Ford F-350 with Short Bed
While you don't need a Sidewinder pin box for a 7' bed, we do recommend using at least a sliding 5th wheel hitch for any bed size that is smaller than 8'. A Sidewinder can be used with any size truck bed but the only time that it is needed is when the truck bed is shorter than 6-1/2'. Since your 2011 Ford F-350 has a 7' bed I recommend at least going with a sliding 5th wheel hitch. If you measure the center to center distance of the pucks, and they come out to be 13 by 30 inches, they are Reese Elite rails that would be compatible with the Reese M5 20K hitch # RP30921 or the 27K model, part # RP30922. If you wished to use a different hitch that's compatible with industry standard bed rails, an adapter is available,...

  • Is a Sidewinder Pin Box or a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Better for a 2018 Ford F-250 with a 6-3/4 Bed
You can use either a Sidewinder pin box or a sliding 5th wheel hitch to achieve a 90 degree turn with the 6-3/4' bed on your 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The most hassle-free setup would be to install a Sidewinder on your Jayco and then use a stationary 5th wheel hitch in your F-250. By using a Sidewinder you won't have to get in and out of the truck to unlock and lock the sliding feature on a 5th wheel hitch. We do have autosliding 5th wheel hitches but they are significantly heavier than...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch And Custom Rails Using Puck System On 2001 Ford F-250 w/ Firestone Bags
For your underbed puck system on a 2001 Ford F-250, I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30073. This system is a custom fit for your vehicle and will give you the 4-puck system similar to those you see in the factory rail kits in current vehicle models. For the hitch that is compatible with these pucks, I recommend the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Single Jaw - 20,000 lbs # RP30921. This hitch allows you...

  • Best Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-250 without OEM Rail Kit
Thanks for all of the details on your towing setup as they are very helpful. Since you have a pivoting pin box that means you can use a fixed fifth wheel hitch and have the turning clearance needed to make tight turns. Normally this require a sliding hitch so that you have cab to trailer nose clearance. So for a fixed hitch the Reese M5 part # RP30928 is a really great option that you'd just need the custom rail kit part # RP56017-53 installed in your truck bed and you'd be set. I have...

  • Under Bed Install Kit for Reese on 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed
The Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch # RP30921 installs into your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 using # RP30868. Since you have a 6-1/2 foot bed you may need a sliding hitch for turning clearance. Unfortunately, the Reese M5 cannot be converted to a slider so you would need an entirely new hitch, # RP30144. You may not need the sliding hitch. Especially if your trailer has a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box. If it doesn't already you may be able to replace the pin box with a Sidewinder. If you tell...

  • Can the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Be Used With the Chevy Factory Puck System
I do have an option for you but the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30921 does not fit the same pucks in your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. There is not an adapter for this either so your only option would be to sell it to recoup some of your money and then obtain a new 5th wheel hitch. For this, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30895 because it will not only fit directly into the pucks but it will also provide you with the most weight capacity...

  • Underbed Fifth Wheel Rail System for 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 that's Most Versatile
The Reese Elite underbed rail kit that fits your 2016 Chevy Silverado part # RP30868 is the most versatile option. It allows Reese puck style hitches to fit like the M20 part # RP30921 which is a really nice option and it also allows the fit of any Ford puck style hitch to fit. Like for example the really nice Companion hitch part # BWRVK3300. The reason for this is Reese designed the Ford underbed rail systems.

  • Reese Under-Bed 5th Wheel Hitch Mounting Option for 2020 Ford F250
For a 5th wheel hitch with an under-bed mounting system, the Reese system that includes the # RP30921 sliding Reese M5 5th wheel hitch and the # RP87FR under-bed rail kit would be a good choice for you. You'll want to look under the bed and check that the inner frame brackets are already in place (see provided diagram). If the inner brackets aren't present, you'll also need part # RP27FR. If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed, you could do so using part #...

  • After Market Under Bed Puck System for a 2018 Chevy Silverado
Yes, there is an option to add an aftermarket under bed puck system to your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500. It is the Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck Complete Hitch item # RP30158-68. This under bed system has a towing capacity of 25,000 lbs. I have linked a picture below of what this will look like installed. Since this is an aftermarket and not a factory under bed system it will have a different pattern. You will need to use a 5th wheel hitch that has a Ford OEM puck system base. I recommend...

If your 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty has an OEM prep package I recommend Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty...

  • Underbed Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 without Rail Kit
If you had the factory rail kit in your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 there would be holes or pucks in the bed of your truck where you see the dimples in the bed. Those dimples are there on all of the truck beds but for the models with the Rail Kit they would be cut out. If you wanted to go with a similar style of underbed fifth wheel hitch setup for your truck the Reese M5 hitch part # RP30921 would be an excellent option. And then for the underbed rail kit you would want the part # RP30868 which...

If you don't already have a 5th wheel hitch or base rails I highly recommend installing the Under-Bed Rail...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For Reese Revolution Pin Box And 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 6.5 Foot Bed
The Reese Revolution pin box will not work with the B&W companion that uses the gooseneck underbed hitch for the base. It puts too much force on the under body for that combination. If you want to use an underbody rail kit, I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868 which can be used with the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Single Jaw - 20,000 lbs # RP30921. If you want a standard above bed rail system,...
