Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Round-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - Universal - RP30035 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. It is going to be a 10 bolt design. The base rails are going to provide necessary attachment points for your 5th wheel trailer hitch. The universal brackets are designed so that they fit most applications, and then the adapter brackets can be used to ease installation on certain vehicles. The kit's going to include both rails, four brackets, two larger ones with more mounting options, and then the two smaller ones, and it's going to include all the hardware that you need, all the instructions, and the fish wire that you just thread onto the end of the bolt, and you can bring it through the appropriate hole as needed. It makes it a little bit easier to get the bolts in the right place. Some compatible hitches are going to be Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky.

This does work with RBW Li'l Rocker Hitch Fifth Wheel Hitch. It will not fit the Reese Elite Series Signature Series or Valley UBS hitches. It's made from a nice solid steel construction with a nice black powder coated finish on it, so it is going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's review of part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. .

The Reese universal installation kit is # RP30035. I have included a link to the installation instructions to the right which contain the torque specifications you need. The brackets do not have to be bolted on if they are welded. But if you just want the peace of mind then you can certainly bolt them on.

The Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP30035, is a universal installation kit for fifth wheel hitches that will fit both the 1999 Ford F-250 Light Duty/Super Duty and the 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty. • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2004 F-250 Super Duty Short Bed and Heartland Sundance
In this situation I recommend going with the best hitch for the truck rather than for the trailer if for no other reason than you might one day pull a different trailer with your 2004 Ford F-250, and because it is better to error on the side of caution as the saying goes. You can take some measurements to ensure there will be enough clearance. On your truck, the center of the hitch jaw will be 36 inches from the back of the truck cab. Using this information we can plug it into a formula...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2007 2500 Dodge Ram Short Bed
Yes, with the right rail kit it will fit. If you have a rotating pin box this will work great. • Bracket Kit Needed for Mounting Reese Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch on 2012 Ram 2500HD with Short Bed
I believe that you have the 43" Reese Base Rails # RP58058. If this is the case then you need the Bracket Kit # RP50140 for it to fit on your 2012 Ram 2500HD with the 6-1/2' bed. Please note that you also need unused hardware for the base rails which can be acquired at your local hardware store. A sample installation video has been linked for you to reference. This will enable you to use the Reese slider # RP30051 or # RP30075 in your pickup. If you have different brand base rails please...

  • Installing B and W Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch in Bed of Truck with OEM GM Rail Kit and Turnoverball
To use a single slider fifth wheel hitch between both trucks you mentioned that have different gooseneck hitches you'd have to use the Reese slider hitch # RP30075 with the Demco adapter part # DM6140 in the 2006 Chevy that has a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch and then to install it in 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed with the OEM rail kit you'd need the part # DM6194 and you'd be set. There isn't an easy way to adapt a Companion hitch to either setup, but the Patriot and Companion...

  • How To Install Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch On a 2015 Ford F-150
In order to install the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 on a 2015 Ford F-150 you'll want to use the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50087-58 which doesn't require drilling into the frame. That said, you may have turning clearance issues with a short bed application therefore a better option would be the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Round Tube Slider part # RP30075. The Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Rails and Installation Kit is not a good match.

  • Could a 2005 Ford F-150 Use a Gooseneck Hitch to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer
The big issue is going to be the length of the bed on your truck. If you have a long bed truck then sticking with the gooseneck would be just fine. If you have a short bed you would need to go with a fifth wheel hitch setup since there are slider hitches available that will allow you to make tight turns without cab interference. For a gooseneck hitch for if you have a long bed you would want the part # C60721. This would be all that you need. If you have a short bed you would instead...
