Forged, Self-Latching Jaw

Self-Latching Jaw

The one-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel hitch provides absolute security with its wraparound design. Increased jaw-to-king-pin contact results in not only a stronger connection, but less noisy rattling and stiff chucking as well.

The jaw is also always ready to receive, so you don't need to use the handle to open it before backing up toward your trailer. As long as the bail pin is removed from the latching handle, the jaw will accept the king pin as it enters the hitch.

Finally, the jaw is self-latching, so it will automatically secure your trailer's king pin when it moves into the jaw.

King Pin Indicator Prevents High Pinning

King Pin Indicator

This M5 hitch features a built-in king pin indicator to ensure proper hookup. This indicator is located on the back of the head along with a V-shaped notch that are both visible from the cab of your truck. The V-notch is lined up with the jaw at the front of the hitch, and can be used as a guiding point to line the king pin up with the jaw as you back up your truck. The jaw also has an internal plate that keeps the king pin from entering if it is too high to enter safely. As a result, the king pin indicator will only change from red to green if the king pin is fully engaged in the jaw.

Easy-to-Use Latching Handle

This hitch's handle is designed for smooth motion and effortless operation. It requires only 2 fingers to use and won't bind up as you pull. In addition, the handle is long, so it's easy to access from outside of your truck bed. And the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold and pull from different angles.

Video Transcript for Review of Reese Max Duty Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - Custom - RP32VR

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at eTrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting system for your Gooseneck and 5th Wheel trailer hitches on the Ford half ton trucks. This does have a 14,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2015 and newer Ford F-150 trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.

Now you can install this underbed mounting system on your half ton pickup truck to tow with either the Reese Max Duty 5th Wheel or the Max Duty Gooseneck Hitch. It is designed to work exclusively with the Reese M5 Max Duty, 14,000 pound 5th Wheel trailer hitch, which we do sell separately on our website. Did wanna pop up an insert to show you what that looks like. That's part number RP72VR. And again, we sell that separately on the website.

And this will also accept the Reese Max Duty above bed Gooseneck trailer hitch. Pop-up an insert on what that looks like. And that's part number RP62VR. Both of those will fit inside or into this underbed mounting system. As you can see, this has a nice, wide platform design, ensures a nice stable mount.

It is a vehicle specific design, which allows shorter installation time and less drilling required. Basically, as we said, just use the vehicle, look up at the top of the product page to find the right fit for your truck. It does use the underbed puck system, which provides a nice clean truck bed once your hitch is removed. So when you're not towing anything, this will all be underneath your truck and you have full use of your truck bed. You can see this is a nice black powder coated steel construction, resists corrosion.

The rails, all the installation hardware and brackets is all included. And again, the specs on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 14,000 pounds. But that's gonna do it for the review on the Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System for the Gooseneck and 5th Wheel hitches on the Ford half ton trucks.

  • Does the Reese Elite Series Rail Adapter Work w/ the Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System?
No, it will not! The Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter item # RP30156 fits the OEM puck system in Ford's trucks and the Reese Elite Series underbed base rails. The only two parts that work with the Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System item # RP32VR are listed below: Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Max Duty Underbed Mounting System item # RP72VR Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Max Duty Underbed Mounting System item # RP62VR

  • Are There Any Sliding Hitches Compatible With The Reese Max Duty Underbed Mounting System
The Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System # RP32VR is designed with a different spacing (29" x 16-3/16”) than other puck systems and is currently only compatible with the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Max Duty # RP72VR and Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Max Duty # RP62VR. At this time there isn't a slider version of the Max Duty 5th wheel hitch but Reese will likely offer one in the future. If you have a 6-1/2' bed then I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel...

  • Will The Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System Fit A 2023 Ford F-150
Yes, the Reese Max Duty Underbed Custom Mounting System # RP32VR will indeed fit the 2023 Ford F-150 long bed. • Is It Easy to Remove Reese M5 For Max Duty Underbed System From 2015 Silverado 2500
Hello Robert, Removing the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Max Duty Underbed Mounting System # RP72VR would be a pain as it is heavy and there isn't a great way to disassemble it. There also isn't a way to mount this hitch in your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 as it fits the Max Duty system which is for Fords. That said, what you can do if you want to tow a 5th wheel is install a gooseneck hitch and then an adapter which works as a 5th wheel hitch. So what I'd do with your '15 Silverado...
