Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q24 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q24 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Universal 5th Wheel Base Rails with the installation kit in a carbide black finish. These base rails will provide a solid mounting point for your 5th wheel hitch. The universal L-shape brackets here will fit nearly any application. They are semi-custom brackets that can be used to ease installation on certain vehicles. All the parts are protected by a highly durable carbide powder coat finish. They are inaudible 00:00:24 in a rust resistant liquid bonderite coating. Now, this part is compatible with most 5th wheel hitches, rollers and goose neck adapters by Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley, and Husky.

Complete kit includes everything shown here, the two base rails themselves, the 4 L-shaped universal brackets, all the mounting hardware, and a nice set of detailed instructions on how to install everything. That should do it for the review on the Curt Universal 5th Wheel Base Rails with the installation kit in a carbide black finish.

  • Recommended Curt Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2007 Dodge Ram Short Bed
To tow a fifth wheel trailer with your 2007 Dodge Ram with a 6-1/2 foot bed you will need to install base rails in your truck bed in order to mount a Curt sliding hitch. Base rails come with installation kits and there are two different options for an '07 Dodge Ram, depending on the model of your truck; I will list the kits and you can select the right one. Keep in mind these kits come with both the base rails and frame brackets so you do not need to purchase them separately. - 2007 Dodge...

  • Will Curt or Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch fit Non Industry-Standard Base Rails in 2003 Dodge Ram
The Replacement Rails for Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Older Models 6014 will give you base rails that are not industry standard, meaning they would not be compatible with a Reese, Curt, or other model of fifth wheel hitch. These hitches mount 22” front to back and either 20-5/8” or 29” wide and will require industry-standard rails in your 2003 Dodge Ram. • Is Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Needed for Short Bed 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab
When towing with a short bed truck like your 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, you will need either a sliding 5th wheel hitch or the use of a rotating pin box because otherwise if you make too sharp a turn the trailer will make contact with the cab and can cause a lot of damage. Since rotating pin boxes like Sidewinders are going to be much more expensive, you are better off going with a sliding hitch than the fixed Reese hitch you have. You can offset the cost by selling the Elite hitch...

I'd go with the A25 # C24FR, which is basically the same thing as the Q25 but does not require the # C88KR adapter. • Differences Between Above and Under Bed Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounts for 2020 Ford F350
There are two ways to install a fifth wheel hitch on a pick up truck. One would be to use standard bed-mounted rails. Brackets are mounted to the truck frame with the bed rails sitting directly above. Holes are drilled down through the truck bed to correspond with holes in the brackets bolted to the frame, allowing the bed rails to be securely bolted down. The rails have slots in them that allow the hitch to be installed and removed pretty conveniently. The problem here is that once the...

Great question! Although a 5th wheel hitch rated for 20K can tow up to 20K we highly recommend using a 5th wheel hitch that is rated about 1K - 2K over the GVWR of your 5th wheel trailer. This gives you a safety margin and will help keep your hitch from prematurely wearing down from normal use. The only time you would be able to safely use the 20K hitch is if you didn't load your trailer up to the 20K capacity. My contact said they are basically the same in the hitch head except for the slightly thicker gauge metal on the Q25 head.
