Can You Use a Toilet Floor Flange Adapter Kit on a 4-bolt Toilet with a Raised Platform Box
Question:
I have a 2001 Holiday Rambler Endeavor, the toilet is not mounted on the floor directly, it sits up on a box which leads to the black tank. I am not sure this mount will work if it is not directly on the floor? I need to go from a 4 bolt system to a 2 bolt system because I cannot find a 4 bolt replacement toilet.

Hi Michael! You are right to double check, RV toilets can be all over the board depending on how the dealer decided to install them. When your toilet is mounted on a raised platform or "box" like in your 2001 Holiday Rambler Endeavor, the fit can be a little different compared to standard floor mounts but that's ok you can still use the Dometic RV Toilet Floor Flange Adapter Kit part # DOM73FR with a little measuring.
It doesn't surprise me you can't find a 4-bolt replacement toilet because 2-bolt is the most common nowadays. All you need to do is make sure the footprint of the adapter kit base will sit evenly on the platform. The base measures 13-3/4" long x 13-1/2" wide. You also want to make sure the platform has space and is sturdy enough to withstand drilling new holes. As long as the base of the adapter covers the footprint of the old one and you have room to drill the new holes into the platform you are good to go. I am attaching the instructions for reference.
You can also seal or plug the old 4-bolt holes if needed—they won’t affect function, but sealing them helps prevent any odors or leaks. With a little prep, you'll be the king of the throne in no time haha.. feel free to comment below if you have anymore questions.

Hi Heather, Thank you for the info, I thought this would work but I also have another question. The only reason I am replacing the toilet is because it doesn't hold water anymore, which from what I understand is a common issue that happens over time. From what I have discovered online is that the seal needs to be replaced, which would be much cheaper than a new toilet! But I am not sure which seal to purchase, my toilet is 25 years old and they do not make them anymore, as with the 4 bolt issue. Can you lead me to the right part? I don't have a model number but it is a "Traveler" low profile, made by SeaLand Technology in Big Prairie Ohio Any help would be appreciated and thank you for the previous response!
