Recommended Air Compressor for Firestone Red Label Air Bags

Question:

I am looking at the Firestone 2610 Compressor kit versus the f56vv. Is the main difference the duty rating of the air compressor? A big price difference, but not sure if I need the heavy duty. Thanks

Hey Gary that's a great question and the answer is yes! However, you're going to need the Firestone Heavy Duty item # F56VV over the Standard Duty item # F2610. The Firestone Air Bags item # F56FV, that fit your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500, are the Red Label model and they require a heavy duty compressor.

Thanks Jerred. Can you recommend the mounting bracket kit I will need to mount on this truck?

@Gary You're welcome and I would be happy to! You'll want the Firestone Universal Air Compressor Mounting Kit item # F2497.

@JerredH Starting the install of the air bags, and having some trouble. The "secondary lower bracket" does not fit because of a torsion bar mount in that location. There is no room for the bracket, nor can you access the outside bolt. Is this bracket necessary?

@Gary Yes, the secondary lower bracket is going to be necessary. It's supposed to grab onto the striker plate as the hardware is tightened. This works with the J-bolt to secure the air bag. This is step 6 in the instructions. If your torsion bar mount is in another location, than what's shown in the instructions, go ahead and email me a picture of that and I can reach out to Firestone for you.
