Replacement Electric Trailer Brakes For 1969 Airstream Globetrotter With Kelsey-Hayes Brake Assembly
Question:
I have a 1969 Airstream Globetrotter that needs new electric trailer brakes. I removed the backing panel and measures the bolt pattern. There are 5 mounting bolts, the top 4 are spaced 2inch apart not 2-1/8inch like your brakes, and the bottom two holes are spaced 3inch apart. Also the center hole diameter is 3.25inch not like 3-3/16inch in your brakes. The brakes are stamped KH. I could not find a part number. Do you have something that will fit? thanks!

The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA uses the standard size 5 bolt mounting pattern axles use today. It sounds like the dimensions are very close to what you have on your 1969 Airstream Globetrotter. As this is the standard pattern manufactured on all brake assemblies if they do not fit on your axle you would need to then update to the Flange # 4-44-1 or replace the Spindle # TRU37FR if you hubs are outdated as well. I have linked the measurements for the Flange # 4-44-1 below so you will be able to also check the diagonal dimensions on your flange.
