2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Towing Capacity
Question:
I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with a current tow capacity of 2000 lbs. Can I add the Factory Towing Package after the fact to increase the towing capabilities to 4500 lbs?

The factory towing package is more than just a hitch receiver and wiring harness. Factory tow packages may include upgraded transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, engines, and cooling systems. The combination of that equipment is what determines your vehicles overall towing capacity. Your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude is not capable of towing anything over 2000 lbs without the factory towing package and this isn't something that can be added afterwards.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13172 is custom fit and will attach to your 2016 Jeep Cherokee without any welding or drilling into your frame. This is a class III receiver for a 2 inch hitch.
I recommend the Tekonosha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118605. This wiring harness connects in-line with your Jeeps rear tail light harness and will provide a connector for controller trailer running, braking, and turn signal lights.
I highly recommend following your vehicles capacity rating on towing. The hitches, like the one I have recommended, that fit your vehicle are capable of towing a higher capacity for different models of Jeep Cherokees'.
