How Much Can a 2007 Cadillac SRX Tow
Question:
Im not sure if my car will tow a travel trailer. It does have the tow button inside the car and it does light up when pushed. To my knowledge, it has no receiver. Im not sure if its a 2wd, or 4wd and I know its a 6 cyl. Ive never owned a travel trailer but have a few friends who live in theirs. How do I find out? I have been given a 1996 Achiever Travel Trailer thats in perfect condition and its weight is roughly 4500 lbs. I wouldnt be traveling much as I have a site waiting but might want to take a trip on occasion. Help please!

Yes, you can tow a trailer with your 2007 Cadillac SRX so long as it is under 2,000 lbs. If you have the V92 Trailer Tow Package then your towing capacity is 4,250 lbs however this package usually consists of a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and transmission/oil coolers therefore it does not sound like this is what you have.
In order to tow a trailer with your 2007 Cadillac SRX you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and ball mount/hitch ball. These are the necessities but I l also recommend you look into a transmission cooler as well as this is going to further preserve the life of your vehicle's transmission.
For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75174 because the receiver tube opening is recessed under the bumper more so than the other option for your vehicle which means it will provide a cleaner look once installed. For a trailer wiring harness, I recommend the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit part # C59236 because it is the most reliable option we have for you. For a ball mount/hitch ball, the Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 and for a transmission cooler, I recommend Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 because it comes with everything that you need.
I have attached an install video of the trailer hitch for you as well.
