Does Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Have Constant Power Draw on Battery?
Question:
I am looking at 90885 prodigy P2. My neighbor has one installed and I noticed that the unit has to lights that stay on when the vehicle is off, is this normal? If normal will it drain the battery?

Brake controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 will have a slight draw on the vehicle battery when the vehicle is off. The two dots you are referring to will stay on for up to 15 minutes and then the controller will go into sleep mode and the dots will disappear until the vehicle ignition is reactivated. The very slight draw will keep your setting so you don't need to readjust settings each time you use your controller. It is a minimal draw like your vehicle clock so it would take many months of your vehicle sitting without any charging to drain your battery from that slight draw.
I've attached the owners manual and a couple videos to help further with the product details.
