Bad Trailer Sway when Towing a Kendon 2 Spot Motorcycle Trailer
Question:
I have a kendon motorcycle trailer ...it swag very bad...especially with two bike on it ....any suggestions....the bikes are about 300lbs different in weight.....the frame is tubular

Because of the design of the trailer a weight distribution system or a traditional stand alone sway control device won't work. But if the trailer has electric brakes you could use Tuson electronic sway control system # 335TSC-1000. If the trailer starts to sway it will apply the brakes to at least one brake assembly to stop the sway. From what I could find the Kendon motorcycle trailers don't have electric brakes.
If the trailer does not have electric brakes then what I recommend to combat sway problems is to first make sure that there is enough tongue weight. Tongue weight is usually 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. If the tongue weight is overly low or high then that can make the trailer more susceptible to sway.
Another thing to check is to make sure you are towing the trailer level. This helps ensure that there is proper tongue weight and makes the trailer more stable when towing.
And last keep an eye on your speed. You may need to travel a little slower to reduce the sway. If the trailer does start to sway the best thing to do is slow down.
