Can the Axle or Spindles be Replaced on a 1,000 Pound Harbor Freight Trailer
Question:
I have 1000lb. Harbor Freight Haulmaster. Id like to change out the axle and hubs to something standard and upgrade from a four-hole bolt pattern to five-hole bolt pattern. My current axle has a 48-inch hub face. This axle appears to be too long. Do you have any axles with 48-inch hub face? Also, it looks as though I might just be able to remove and replace the spindle on the current axle, but I am not sure. The inside of the axel appears to be about an inch or so.

I do have a solution for you but we have only the most common size straight axles. Also you may be able to remove the spindles on your current axle but any new ones would have to be welded on by a professional with experience with this kind of trailer work.
What I recommend is to use Timbren Axle-less system # ASR1200S04. You would use this set in place of a traditional axle and leaf spring suspension. The benefits are better ground clearance, less maintenance, and much fewer parts that could get worn out. I have linked a video review for you to check out.
