How to Mount Yakima Land Shark Saddles to Factory Aero-Style Crossbars on 2018 Subaru Outback
Question:
Hello, I have Yakima Land Shark carriers currently mounted on Yakima round cross bars. I just purchased a 2018 Subaru Outback Limited. The dealer said the cross bars are the same as the Thule AeroBlade. What adapter could I use to attach the Land Sharks to the Subaru cross bars? Many thanks,

I spoke with my contact at Yakima regarding your Land Shark Carrier and the aero-style factory crossbars on your new Subaru Outback. He stated that all you will need to mount your Land Shark saddles to the wider crossbars is the Yakima Universal MightyMounts # Y03590. These will work perfectly to adapt the saddles to fit the factory roof rack by inserting the included long carriage bolt through the accessory and into the spacer on top of the MightyMount. Since the Land Shark saddles feature two mounting bolts, you will need two adapters for each saddle, one for each side.
I have attached the installation instructions for this product so you can get a better idea as to how they work.
