Large Roof Cargo Basket Recommendation on 2007 Subaru Forester with Factory Roof Rack

Question:

Hi, I have a 2007 Subaru Forester with factory installed roof rack with cross bars. I would like to mount a cargo basket on roof. Larger one if possible. When I looked at Thule website it basically says nothing is compatible. It doesnt have to be Thule but a list of options and needed accessories to accomplish what I am doing would be helpful.

To be completely sure a particular cargo basket is going to fit on you 2007 Subaru Forester you will want to measure the crossbar spread and the overall space you will be covering with the basket. You'll want to see if you have clearance for your rear hatch to open as well.

A couple of recommendations are the Thule Canyon XT with the extension # TH859XT-8591XT which has a crossbar spread of 20-57 inches and measures 69 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 6 inches tall. Also, the Yakima MegaWarrior with extension # Y07080-82 which is larger at 74 inches long, 48 inches wide, and 6-1/2 inches tall and a crossbar spread of 36-60 inches.
