Question:
Bad install for the lock on our trailer hitch bike carrier. The first time I inserted the lock I didnt use the change key, just the N 170 key. I think it is 180º wrong. It wont lock and I cant get the change key to go all of the way in. The lock falls half way out of the cylinder but I cant get it all of the way out to reset it. Any ideas? If I can get the old one out I will order a new one.

Using the universal change key will engage all the tumblers so that the lock can come out of the housing. Make sure the change key is fully inserted. You may have to hold the change key in place and pull on the lock core with the other hand. Otherwise the change key could just slip out.
If that does not work then you could drill the lock core out. Then for a new N170 lock use # THLOCKN170.
