Locating the CHMSL and Interior Light Wire to Wire SnugTop Shell on 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

HELP Ive tried looking on you tube videos etc for some guidance on how to wire the 3rd brake light and interior light for the snug top shell. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado and it looks like the snug top has two separate PIN style connectors. Any thoughts?

I can help you wire up your SnugTop Shell to your Silverado but there are no direct connectors to do this, you will have to hardwire it into your vehicles lighting circuits.
There are a couple of places you can access a dedicated brake light only circuit on your 2000 Chevy Silverado. First, you can tap into the circuit behind the third brake light on the cab of the truck.
The brake light wire might also be located in the back of the vehicle. Some Silverado trucks come with the brake light wire tucked in the tow package wiring. This is typically a light blue or light green wire.
You can also get the signal from the CHMSL or stop light fuses. Use the vehicle owner's manual and/or power distribution box lid to locate the fuses for the center high mount stop light (CHMSL) or stop light circuit.
To make sure you have found the correct wires, use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires. Once you have found the stop light circuit, which will only be hot when the brake is pressed, you will want to use a quick connects like # SWC502905-1 or butt connectors like # 05731-5 to connect your SnugTop's power wire with. Then you will want to ground the third brake light's ground wire for this to function properly. The Deka # 16-1-1 is the wire I recommend using to run these connections from your top to your Silverado. For the grounds I suggest the # DW05737-1 ring terminals and grounding screws # 101131802. Be sure to mount your ground connections to a clean metal surface on the vehicle's frame.
For the interior light you will want to splice in similarly to the third brake light but to a power wire. This wire will have constant power regardless of the brake pedal being pushed. Same thing goes for this light, you will want to run the ground wire to a metal part of the frame. If your light in the camper shell does not have a switch then it would be a good idea to add one or you could possibally run it to the truck bed light switch if your vehicle is equipped.
