Fitment of 2-5/16 Inch Coupler on a 2 Inch Pintle Hitch
Question:
Is there a problem using a 2 inch ball on the pintle hitch on a trailer with a 2- 5/16 hitch as long as the latch is closed?

It is not recommended to use a larger coupler on a smaller ball size even if it latches. The coupler can come ajar because it will not be snug enough to the ball to overcome the force created when impacting road bumps.
I would suggest getting a pintle hook combo with a 2-5/16 inch ball like # C48200 or replacing the ball on your current setup. You would just want to replace it with a 2-5/16 inch ball that has the proper hole diameter, which is 1-1/8 inches # 63052 on the pintle # TR63011 you referenced.
