Toyota Sienna Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Can a Hitch Be Installed on an All Wheel Drive 2011 Toyota Sienna
  • Yes, you can install a hitch on the Sienna AWD model. None of the hitch manufacturers that supply us, Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite or Curt have any fit exclusions for the AWD model of the 2011 Toyota Sienna. There are Class II and III hitches available for your Sienna. Whenever the alternative is available, I recommend going with the Class III because it uses the more common 2 inch receiver. Because it's more common, there are many more accessories available such as bike racks and cargo...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch with the Highest Clearance for a 2013 Toyota Sienna
  • The smaller Class II hitches like # 36513 will give you a little more clearance vs. Class III hitches. The Class II will have lower tongue weight and gross trailer weight capacities. A bike rack with a rise in the shank will provide more ground clearance. When we have installed trailer hitch # 36513 on Toyota Sienna vans the same generation as yours we measured approximately 11 inches from level ground to the top of the receiver opening. To the bottom of the receiver that would be approximately...

  • Your 2014 Toyota Sienna can be fitted with either of two sizes/classes of trailer hitch, either a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class II type or a 2-inch Class III type that offers higher capacity. Since the costs between the two types are so close, and since a 2-inch hitch offers better flexibility with accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers, I suggest the Curt # C13105. This hitch's installation is shown in the linked video, and the written instructions as well as two helpful installation...

For example, Curt hitch # C13105 has this capability. Next you will want to measure your camper's fully-loaded tongue weight when it is stocked with all gear and supplies and ready to tow. To this you will add the weight of anything in the tow vehicle placed behind the rear axle, such as a loaded cooler....
