Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Sienna - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2014 Toyota Sienna, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the draw tite custom-fit class 3 trailer hitch receiver. This offers the 2 inch by 2 inch opening. Its part number is 75237. This is what our hitch is going to look like installed. It's very common with hitches on the Sienna, we're going to see our cross tube all the way across here, this is rounded design. Here in the middle, we've got our receiver tube opening, this is 2 inch by 2 inch, it's a class 3 hitch. Which is going to be really good for just about any need you might have with it, towing, whether you want to move some bikes around with your bike rack or maybe cargo carrier application.

Best 2016 Toyota Sienna Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitches available for the 2016 Toyota Sienna. The most popular is going to be our Curt Class Three Part number C13105. Going to follow that up with the inaudible 00:00:14 Class Three part number 75237 and then rounding out the top three is going to be the draw tight, this is a class two, part number 36513. Now the most noticeable difference that I really see in the hitches is going to be the cross tube sizes, our class threes are going to be a little bit bigger, our class two it's a little bit smaller. Also because it's a class two we've got the inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening where our class threes are going to be two inch by two inch. Now a few of the smaller differences that you might notice is going to be the reinforcement collar on our class three Curt, it's got kind of a flush front, nice and flat, whereas when we move to the draw tight we've got a little bit more of a rounded reinforcement collar and then the class two is more of a strap that's been welded around the end to give us a little bit of an additional reinforcement. Our safety chain connection points are all pretty similar, the Curt plate is a little bit smaller and it's got smaller openings, whereas when we move to our draw tight here you're going to see plates a little bit bigger but really much larger opening and these are going to be the same on the class three and on the class two so if you've got bigger safety chains that you want to connect looks like the draw tight's going to give you the most room out of all of them. Something I like about the draw tight class three you can see we've got the plate that's already been welded on here, it's got three pre-drilled holes that will allow us to attach wiring or something of that nature whether it's 4 pole, 7 pole wiring we want to get on the back without having to purchase an extra clamp or an extra bracket or something like that. Now both class three hitches are going to use a five eighths diameter pinhole to secure all of our items with, you'll see the Curt just has one hole here five eighths of an inch in diameter, plenty of room on each side there for accessories, we want to be sure those are rated for class three just like on our draw tight we want to make sure they're class three accessories and this one you can see two holes.

Toyota Sienna Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE
  • For your 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C13105. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver. If you plan on doing some towing with the hitch the recommended ball mount is # C45067. It has a 2-1/2 inch rise and 3-3/4 inch drop. For a 2 inch ball I recommend # 40038. For a 2-5/16 inch ball I recommend # C40007. And for a hitch pin I recommend the classic # PC3. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level,...

  • Good news! You came to the right place, I can help you get all the items you need. The trailer hitch that I recommend for you is the Draw-Tite # 75237. This hitch has a 675lb tongue weight (TW) and a 4,500lbs towing capacity. If used with a weight distribution that towing weight can be increased. The Draw-Tite hitch has a combination of a e-coat and powder coat finish that provides excellent rust protection. But according to your owners manual the gross trailer weight must never...

Be sure to verify this in the owners manual though. For a hitch that would match this capacity and is the most popular option for your vehicle we have the Curt Hitch part # C13105 that I would recommend. I like this rack because it swings entirely out of the way even with the carrier loaded when you need rear cargo access. This carrier has a locking cable in the mast to secure the bikes to the carrier and help deter theft. The Hitching Post, part # TH934XTR is a nice carrier as well. I attached an install video for this bracket as well. It doesn't sound like your 2015 Toyota Sienna has a weight distribution capacity so you would be limited to the 3,500 pounds specified for the vehicle. Also you will want to check the owners manual because Toyota may require additional items to meet the max capacity including a transmission cooler and/or power...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • Yes, there are several trailer hitches that will fit your 2015 Toyota Sienna Limited AWD. The hitch I recommend is the Curt Class III # C13105. It will have a 350 pound tongue weight which will be just fine for carrying a bike rack like the Swagman Trailhead # S63360 that has a 3-inch rise in the shank. I included a link to all the trailer hitches that will fit your 2015 Toyota Sienna (Class II and III) along with a couple installation videos and informative article.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Toyota Sienna SE
  • Both the Curt Hitch part # C13105 and the Draw-Tite part # 75237 will fit pretty tight to the rear of your 2014 Toyota Sienna. I attached an install pic of both hitches to show you that they both hitches will basically be just as tight. The e-coating is not that new. I will say that if you stripped the e-coat from the hitch, had it galvanized and then powdercoated it would be very corrosion resistant. Is that excessive? Maybe, but it should work.

  • Does the Rear Appearance Panel of a 2014 Toyota Sienna Get Trimmed When Curt Hitch is Installed
  • The underbody panel of your 2014 Toyota Sienna will need to get trimmed to install the Curt Hitch part # C13105 that you referenced. If you check out the installation instructions and the install video I attached you will see more info on how it gets trimmed. Leaving the panel off would be an option, it wouldn't cause any corrosion or have any undesired effect as this is just an appearance panel.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Toyota Sienna Limited AWD
  • Your 2014 Toyota Sienna can be fitted with either of two sizes/classes of trailer hitch, either a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class II type or a 2-inch Class III type that offers higher capacity. Since the costs between the two types are so close, and since a 2-inch hitch offers better flexibility with accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers, I suggest the Curt # C13105. This hitch's installation is shown in the linked video, and the written instructions as well as two helpful installation...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Toyota Sienna to Carry Bikes
  • The hitches for the 2014 Toyota Sienna that are going to be the strongest and most durable are the Class III hitches. Out of the Class III options, the Curt hitches, such as # C13105, have been doing well in terms of powder coating and corrosion resistance. Even the inner part of the cross tube is coated. The Class III hitches also have a 2 inch receiver which is going to afford you many options for bike racks, more so than a Class I or II hitch would. Based on the ride height of...

  • Can Water/Snow Get Above Trimmed Splash Guard With Trailer Hitch Installed on 2014 Toyota Sienna
  • The appearance panel that needs to be trimmed to install Curt trailer hitch # C13105 on your 2014 Toyota Sienna does have drain holes so snow, rain, and road grime can drain out. It would be easy to save the part that gets trimmed and then use something like JB Weld to put it back into place (though part of it will still need to be trimmed away) and that will help as well. We have not had customers complain about moisture getting up there or causing any problems. If you plan on doing...

  • Draw Tite or Curt Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Toyota Sienna
  • For your 2014 Toyota Sienna the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75237 that you referenced has a higher towing capacity at 675 lbs tongue weight and 4,500 lbs total trailer weight. Both of these hitches install the exact same. The time differences are due to that being the estimate either brand gave. Draw Tite just happened to be a bit more conservative than Curt with the install time. Unless you really like the look of the Curt I would go with the Draw Tite as it has a higher capacity and very...

  • Recommended Equipment Needed for Towing 3200lb Boat With a 2014 Toyota Sienna
  • As a first step, I'd recommend confirming the weight of the boat and the trailer, as well as the fully loaded and ready to tow trailer tongue weight (see linked article.) Your Sienna is capable of towing 3500lbs, so you'll want to be sure the combined weight of the boat and trailer doesn't exceed that amount. The Curt Class III hitch you looked at, part # C13105 would be an excellent choice. Any time the weight of the trailer is greater than half the weight of the vehicle, using...

  • Choosing Between Thule, Yakima and Softride Hitch-Mount Bike Racks for 2014 Toyota Sienna
  • When we installed Curt Class III hitch # C13105 on the 2014 Toyota Sienna we found that the hitch pin hole was 4-1/2-inches from the rear-most part of the bumper. This means you'll want to choose a bike rack that offers at least 5-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to ensure that you have no interference between the rack and the Sienna. The Thule Vertex Swing # TH9031XT and the Yakima Swing Daddy # Y02464 both offer the best vehicle access since they both swing completely out...

A bike rack with a rise in the shank will provide more ground clearance. • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitches for 2013 Toyota Sienna with Hitch Bike Rack
  • A trailer hitch's towing capacity and tongue weight capacity are determined by the testing done by the manufacturer. The Draw-Tite # 75237 is designed to be able to tow a greater amount of weight than the Curt # C13105 hitch. Either hitch will work well for your 2013 Toyota Sienna, as I found the maximum towing capacity for the vehicle, with the towing package, to be 3,500 pounds. I found this information on page 211 of the owner's manual. The crosstube of the Curt hitch does sit a little...
