Today on this 2011 Toyota Rav4, were going to install part number 118412 from Tow Ready. First thing we are going to do is open up the back of the vehicle and get to the interior, we have to remove the threshold and the four coverings. Were also going to loosen up the side panels as well, there will be three fasteners that we have to remove, there will be two bolts and one bolt for the tie down point towards the bottom, and then well use a trim panel tool to help pop the sides away from the body. All right now well go ahead and look for our connection points, the connections points are going to be right behind the taillights, with the small tab we can push so we can remove the connector to the taillight, well put it out here and Ill take it apart and show you where the tab is push down. All right now well go ahead and start installing our T-connector, starting with the T-connector with the yellow wire well plug it into the factory wire harness, well compare them two and put them together and well take the other half and push it back into the taillight. Well take the other T-connector with the green wire and well run it in behind the plastic and over to the other side, well slip it behind the plastic and run it up to the taillight just like we did on the driver side.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Toyota RAV4

Today, on this 2004 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready wiring harness 118389.The first step is to open the back door and gain access to the rear of the vehicle. There is a panel right here on the driver's side that needs to be removed and we'll be removing the interior trim panel to access the tail light wiring. On the inside of the cargo compartment here, there's a little door you take off and you can see the tail light wiring right inside there and once you see the tail light wiring there's a little clip that you have to pop off to be able get it out and make your connections. Next, we'll go ahead and disassemble the panels on the passenger's side. Now we're ready to go ahead and install our wiring harness starting on the passenger's side.First thing to do is disconnect the wires from the vehicle tail light by pushing in the pad and pulling out. And on the passenger's side we'll be connecting the green and red wires in line with that gray and yellow light connector.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Today we are working on a 2007 Toyota Rav 4. Were going to install a Tow Ready T-One connector, part number 118412. Our first step is accessing the rear cargo area of the vehicle. If you got any cargo liners installed you want to go ahead and remove those now, and we are going to open up the access panel, and we are going to remove the rear threshold. Okay we will go ahead and set that aside for reinstallation later. Now all we need to do is gain access behind the tail lights on both sides.

Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness - 2001 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2001 Toyota RAV4 we are going to install part number 118389, a t-one wiring harness. We will be removing the interior panels and trim to install the wiring harness behind the tail lights for the hitch. We will remove screws here, here, and here. Then work your way under the trim panel, and pop it free. This will allow you access behind the taillights. Repeat the same steps on the drivers side. :45

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2006 Toyota RAV4, we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118412. We are going to start off in the rear cargo area of our RAV4. The ports that we are looking for are located inside the vehicle here, behind both the driver and passenger side panels, basically directly behind the taillight assemblies. So we are going to go ahead and need to remove a few items to gain access to these ports. We are going to start by removing the floor board, along with the cargo area. And then we will be able to pull back the panels and gain access to the plugs. Next I am going to go ahead and pull out the rear threshold piece. And to do that we are just going to need to release the mounting clips that are holding it into place on the top side here. We will be using a basic rivet removal tool and pry up gently to release the clips. With those released, we just want to come to the bottom of it here and we are actually going to lift straight up. Next we will move on to the interior panel and there are a couple of fasteners that are holding it into place, as well as the clips that we had on the rear threshold section. We have the tie-down bolt right here, a second one here, and a regular screw in this recessed hole here. So we want to go ahead and remove all of those and we will go ahead and pull our panel back. We will do that on both the driver and passenger side. 1:20

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2010 Toyota RAV4 we are going to install part number 118412 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get into the back of the vehicle so we can get access to our tail light harness. To begin our install we are going to have to remove some interior panels. We can fold this up out of the way. Now we want to get to this rear threshold and we want to remove that because we will be running a wire all the way across. We will use a trim panel tool to remove the rivets. Lets remove this access cover and next we need to remove this whole panel. We do not actually have to remove it but what we are going to do is pull it out so it is easier to slip the wires from back here out the other side. We need to remove this tie down point and this screw. Pop it loose. We are going to leave that alone for now and go over to the passenger side and do the same thing again. 01:14

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2008 Toyota RAV4 we are going to install part number 118412 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get inside the back of the vehicle and start taking apart the interior components. To get access to our wiring connection points we will actually be behind the tail lights. To get behind the paneling we are going to start in the middle. We are going to have to pull off this cover, we are going to take out this part. The next thing we have to do is take out these two side panels right here, one on each side. We are going to take off this threshold. It may require you to have a trim panel tool to help pop up the rivets. Next we are going to take out two access panels. There is one on each side to make the panel a little bit more flexible. 00:43

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2007 Toyota RAV4 we will be installing the wiring harness part number 118412. We are inside the rear cargo area of the RAV4. The ports that we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into are located behind the interior panels of the vehicle directly behind the tail lights. That is going to be the same on both sides of the vehicle. We are going to need to remove a few things to gain access to those ports. First off being the middle threshold piece because we are going to be routing wires from one side to the other. Lets go ahead and start uninstalling the interior of the vehicle. We will also need to remove the rear section of the interior panel, there are clips here that we are going to need to release to open that up, there are also a couple of screws. With the cargo door removed as well just look right back here again just right behind the tail light you can see the port that we are going to be plugging our harness into. We just want to disconnect those two pieces and we will plug our harness in line. 01:03

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2002 Toyota RAV4

Today on this 2002 Toyota Rav 4, we are going to install part number 118389 from TowReady. This T1 wire harness installs inside the vehicle behind both tail lights. What that means is we are going to have to get inside the vehicles, take out a couple of the side panels, and the floor coverings as well. Next we will take out the threshold. There are two tie downs next to the side panels, we will take those out next. The we will take the access panels off the side of the interior side panels and then we will open up the panels to have access to the tail lights, and then we will have to pull back the panels themselves a little bit. :39

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 Toyota Rav4

Today we are going to install part number 33465 from Hoppy, and we are going to install it on a 2001 Toyota Rav4. All right, to begin with we need to get inside the vehicle and we need to take off the plastic panels on the inside. I am going to take up this carpet and this panel also. We will just push that back for now. And this trim panel, it comes off also. And the next thing we need to do is take off this panel here. We need to loosen it so we can get behind the tail light assembly. We will take off this screw here, and then we will undo this screw here to take off this buckle so that gives you easier work room to pull off the plastic. Also, behind this panel there might be a screw that you might need to take out too. We will take off this panel here for a little bit extra room, too.

  • Troubleshooting a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118412 Installed on a 2006 Toyota RAV4
  • It sounds like the problem could be the converter box of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118412 if the connections are good and the ground is good. The best way to test the box would be to get a circuit tester like the part # 3808 and test the wires going into the box and then out the other side. I would start on the left blinker signal wire on the input side of the box. You will want to test for intermittent voltage on this wire, and then again on the output side of the box. If you fin

I have asked the installer that appeared in the video if he could recall how far up toward the front of the vehicle the tube extended, but he could not recall. There is no one correct method of running that wire to the engine compartment, as long as the wire is kept away from any moving parts such as suspension components and anything hot, like the muffler, exhaust and exhaust

  • Troubleshooting Green Right Turn and Brake Wire Stays Hot all the Time on 2009 Toyota RAV4
  • On your 2009 Toyota RAV4, there is more than 1 connection point that the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118412, could plug in to. The connections are behind the trim panels on each side. You will need the connectors that are closest to the taillights. I have included a link to the installation details as well as an install video showing installation on a 2008 model. If you still have a problem, you can test the wires going into the converter box on the harness. If all functions are corre

  • Does T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118412 Require Direct Connection to battery on 2010 Toyota RAV4
  • The wiring in the power port may not be rated for this type of application. The harness should not be used unless you attach the power wire to the battery via the in line fuse and fuse holder included with the kit. This will protect the sensitive wiring and electrical components in your RAV4. Also, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118412, requires a direct connection to the battery on your 2010 Toyota RAV4 because should there be a failure or malfunction in the electrical system, the harne

  • Can I Tap Into Any 12V Power Source at the Rear of a Toyota RAV4 for Tow Harness Part 118412
  • The location that Tow Ready, manufacturer of the harness, and the location that we recommend is the positive battery post. There is not any wiring, readily accessible, in the rear of the RAV4 that can handle the amperage that is drawn through the power wire. Connecting the power wire to any power circuit in the rear of the vehicle can potentially result in a wire being over drawn and damaging the vehicle. Included in the kit is a length of wire to run that power wire up to the engine bay and

  • Should Right Turn and Brake Functions be Located on the Same Wire on T-One Wiring Harness 118412
  • It is the industry standard for the right turn and brake functions to be powered on the green wire on the 4-Way plug, and for the left turn and brake functions to be powered on the yellow wire on the plug. So in short, yes, your right turn and brake signals should be functioning on the same wire. Are you actually having problems with lights not working when you connect your vehicle to your trailer? If you are, please let me know what is happening and I would be glad to help you find a solut

  • Running Power and Ground Wires on a 2009 Toyota Rav4
  • Wiring the power wire on the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118412, should not be all that daunting. It just takes a little patience and when you are complete you will be glad you have the protection for the circuitry in your vehicle. Either route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment, up to the battery, avoiding areas that may pinch or break the wire. • Running Wiring to Outside of a 99 Rav4 to Plug into a Trailer Harness
  • Usually there is a grommet somewhere that you can cut a slit in and reinstall around the wires to route the wiring outside of the vehicle, if you do not want to store the connector in the vehicle driver side storage compartment. I am sorry but I do not have specific information on your vehicle so a little investigation will have to be done on your part. If you decide to store the connector in the vehicle then you would simply pull out enough wire to attach the connector to the trailer and clos

  • The maximum amp rating for the T-One Wiring Harness are as follows: Maximum stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps), Max. tail lights: (4.2 amps). This kit does not plug directly into the vehicle, so it must be hardwired. The Kit includes 20 feet of 12 gauge wire for attachment to the battery.

  • Running a Power Wire on a 2009 Toyota RAV4
  • You should not run the power wire from the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, item # 118412, to the 12V at the back of your vehicle instead of running the hot lead to the battery on your 2009 Toyota Rav 4. You need to isolate the trailer wiring from the vehicles sensitive circuitry. Tapping into the vehicle 12 volt supply at the back of your vehicle will put your vehicles wiring at risk. You also need to be sure and install the included in-line fuse holder and fuse to protect the converter.
