Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Nissan Juke - Draw-Tite

Today on this 2016 Nissan Juke, we're going to review and install part number 24867 from Draw-Tite. This is their class One 1 1/4 receiver hitch. This is what the hitch looks like on our Nissan Juke. On first glance, you can see it sits relatively far back behind the bumper, probably at least a few inches or so. You also notice that the body does sit below the bumper, not tucked in behind it, so it does stay relatively hidden being reset so far back. This 1 1/4 inch opening right here and on the bottom here we have this ring here for safety chain hooks. We look right here, this is going to be our hitch pinhole and this used as a 1/2 inch diameter hitch pin or your favorite locking hitch pin.

Today on our 2013 Nissan Juke, we'll be installing the Curt 1-1/4 Inch Receiver Tube Hitch part number C11088. This is what our hitch looks like once it's installed. Next we're going to give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin holes to the outer most edge of the bumper is 3-5/8 inches. From the the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground, is 11 inches. Now we'll go ahead with the installation. Now to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and remove the tow hook on the passenger side.

Nissan Juke Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Nissan Juke Nismo
  • I have a bike rack solution for you, but when I spoke to our manufactures and they told me that the Nismo would not have a hitch fit because of the configuration of the frame and cross supports that are necessary for a performance automobile to achieve the needed strength to operate as designed. My number one recommendation for you to transport your bikes is with a roof mounted bike rack. To do this you will first need a roof rack system like the Thule Traverse foot # TH480, 50 inch...

  • Class I Trailer Hitch Availability for 2015 Nissan Juke SL All Wheel Drive
  • Curt offers a 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I trailer hitch for your 2015 Nissan Juke SL All-Wheel-Drive. That hitch is part # C11088. It fits all AWD models except the NISMO. This hitch requires no drilling and includes the necessary installation hardware to bolt it on your Juke AWD. I have linked the written instructions, which detail the tools required. These basic hand tools include a torque wrench like # ALL944001. I also linked for you an installation video showing a 2013 model year...

If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level,...

  • Fit of Draw-Tite Class I Hitch # 24867 Around Exhaust of 2014 Nissan Juke
  • The Draw-Tite Class I # 24867 is a fit for all models of the 2014 Juke, except for the NISMO mode. The hitch attaches to the vehicle using weldnuts in the underside of the frame member, and the tow hook would need to be removed. The hitch is designed to allow as much exhaust clearance as possible. I've provided you a photo showing how the hitch will sit in relation to the exhaust pipe. I've also linked you to the installation instructions. You'll want to make sure you choose a bike rack...

  • Recommended Hitch for 2013 Nissan Juke FWD
  • The Draw-Tite Class I hitch you referenced, part # 24867 is indeed a fit for AWD Juke models only. For the front wheel drive model, you will need the Draw-Tite Class I receiver, part # 24892. I have spoken with my representative at Draw-Tite, who has confirmed the hitch as a fit for your Juke. Due to the lowered tongue weight capacity of a Class I hitch, if you are using a bike rack, you will want to be sure to use a bike rack that is compatible with a Class I hitch. I have linked...

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack to Carry Carbon Fiber Bike on 2013 Nissan Juke
  • To carry your bike using a hitch mounted bike rack, you first need a hitch. For the FWD model, as long as it is not a NISMO model, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class I receiver, part # 24892. The hitch is identical to the Hidden Hitch model, but it does not include the ball mount that you will not need if you are only going to use the hitch to carry a bike rack. For a carbon fiber bike, the best way to transport the bike without causing undue stress to the frame is to use a platform...

This can be done in several ways including using a drill, rotary tool, or file. You will still need to lower the exhaust as well. The Curt # C11302 would install in essentially the same manner, using the same attachment points, and has an identical weight capacity. However, Cut requires the use of a stabilizing strap # 18050 to provide extra support to non-trailer loads. The strap doesn't work well with some vehicles, so I typically...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Nissan Juke FWD for Carrying Bikes and Cargo
  • I would recommend the Curt Class I receiver hitch, # C11135 for your 2012 Nissan Juke front wheel drive. The reason is that this is the only hitch we have at this time that is verified to fit the front wheel drive model Juke. All of the hitches available for the Nissan Juke are going to install in essentially the same location, and one would not be more visible than another. This can be done in several ways including using a drill, rotary tool, or file. Installation of an aftermarket part technically will not void the warranty. • Will the Yakima HoldUp # Y02433 Work with Class I Receiver on 2012 Nissan Juke
  • Although the Yakima HoldUp is an excellent bike rack, it will not work with the 1-1/4 inch receiver opening that the Class I receiver for the Nissan Juke uses. Yakima offers a replacement shank, part # Y80126 that converts the 2 inch shank to a 1-1/4, but like all of the Yakima bike racks, it is not Class I compatible.
