Now lets go ahead with the installation, before we install our hitch lets go ahead and point out our attachment point. Here at the rear of the frame on either side of the muffler are 2 weld nuts. These 2 will be our attachment point for the driver side and there will be 2 identical on the passenger side but before we put the hitch in place were gonna want to clean them out using a little spray lubricant we can spray the hole then Ill use a half-inch nylon toothbrush part number 814092 and thoroughly clean out the threads, the older the vehicle is the more chance you have of dirt, rust, and buildup inside the threads. Before I go and try to install the hitch after I cleaned them out I also take my new hardware just to make sure its gonna easily thread up into the weld nut as you can see we got that one already cleaned out Ill go ahead and repeat the same process for the other 3 attachment points.
