Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Kia Sportage - Curt

Today on our 2007 Kia Sportage we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the CURT custom fit class three trailer hitch receiver. This offers the 2" by 2" opening. Its part number is 13526. Here's what the hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, it's a nice clean look. Our crosstube is mainly hidden behind that rear fascia.

Best 2017 Kia Sportage Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Kia Sportage. The first hitch that we're going to be looking at is going to be the CURT class three hitch, part number C13281; followed by the Draw-Tite class three, part number 76074; then the CURT class two, part number C12158; and finally, the Draw-Tite class two, part number 36593. The primary difference that you're going to see between the CURT hitches and the Draw-Tite hitches up here is the way that the safety chain connection points are designed. On the CURTs they've got the flat steel safety chain connection points, but on both Draw-Tites they've got the safety chain connections that come down underneath the bottom of the receiver tube opening. Another difference that you'll see is here on the Draw-Tite it's got this little l-bracket that comes out that's welded off the crosstube here on the frame. What that's there for is to give you a mounting place for wiring if you choose to have it outside the vehicle. Up here on that CURT, it doesn't have anything like that, so you'd have to get an extra bracket in order to do that. Here on the class three Draw-Tite it's got two pinholes in the side.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Kia Sportage - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, Part Number 76074. Here is what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, we've got the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. Nice welded on reinforcement collar here. It features standard 5/8" pinhole which is going to be used to secure all your Class III accessories. Here we've got the smaller 1/2" hole. What that's used for it's used with the J-pin stabilization system.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Kia Sportage - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 KIA Sportage, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 36593. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see it's nicely tucked away to where the cross tube is hidden up here behind the rear fascia. We've got 1 1/4 inch by 1 1/4 inch receiver tube opening, with a reinforcement collar welded on around that. Then here it's got these angled steel safety chain connection points, which where they sit and the size that they are, it will be nice and easy for you to attach just about any tube of safety chain that you may have to that attachment point. It's nice and easy to install. It has a 1/2 inch pinhole, which is good for securing all of your Class I and Class II accessories.

All of these hitches are very similar. When they're mounted on the vehicle they all come out to where you see about the same amount of hitch. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Kia Sportage - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite class three Max Frame trailer hitch receiver, part number 75717. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's tucked up nice and tight to make sure that it doesn't really take away from the look of the vehicle. You do have the hitch here for full functionality. It features the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. It's got this nice reinforcement collar that's welded on around it.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Kia Sportage - Curt

Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage we're going to be taking a look at and installing the CURT class three trailer hitch receiver, part number C13281. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's nicely tucked up behind the rear fascia here to where all you really see is the receiver tube and the safety chain connection points. This hitch features the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening with a nice welded-on reinforcement collar here that helps give it a nice sturdy look. Then it's got the plate style safety chain connection points. This hitch gives you the good functionality of a class three hitch, but it also maintains a good look on the vehicle because you can't see the entire crosstube all the way across the length because that's tucked behind that fascia.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Kia Sportage - Curt

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13066. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. A lot of our customers seem to like how tucked back it is, to make sure that it doesn't protrude out past the bumper, and therefore, it maintains that clean look for your vehicle. It's also not so far back to where you're not going to get good clearance with the majority of accessories that you may want to use with it. Features the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, with this nice, attractive reinforcement piled around it. It's got the rolled steel safety chain connection points, which are going to be really good because you've got plenty of clearance all the way around to get just about whatever type of safety chain that you may have connected to it. Got the standard five-eighths inch hitch pinhole, which is going to be used to secure all your accessories into the hitch. It's a nice, very easy installation.

Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's nicely tucked up to the underside of the pay ship 00:00:17 to where it doesn't minimize ground clearance here at the back of the vehicle, but it also maintains a clean look because it is up nice and tight here. This hitch features a 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening, which we welded on a reinforcement collar. It's got the half-inch hitch pin hole. It's going to be used to secure all of your Class I and Class II accessories.

Kia Sportage Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Number of Installation Bolts Required to Install Trailer Hitch on a 2017 Kia Sportage
  • Good news! The Curt hitch # C13281 is a no drill application, which means the 4 bolt holes on the hitch are all that it takes to mount this hitch to your vehicle. These mounting holes are already predrilled on your vehicle's frame for easy installation. I do have one suggestion for you though. I would recommend the Draw-Tite hitch # 76074 over the Curt brand because to be compliant with Curt's warranty you will need to use a stabilization strap like # 18050 on all non trailer loads,...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitches for a 2017 Kia Sportage
  • If you will be using the trailer hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier than I recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 76074 because it does not have the stabilization strap requirement for non-trailer loads like the Curt, # C13281. It also costs less. In fact, even if you were towing I would still recommend the Draw-Tite hitch because it is at a better price point. While the designs of these 2 hitches are a little different how and where they install is about the...

You'll also need a ball mount, part # 2923 and a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260 or a 2 inch ball # 63845, depending on what the trailer's coupler calls for. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you. To add a 4-Way flat trailer connector to the back of the Sportage I recommend # 118526. The maximum trailer tongue weight (maximum amount of weight that can safely be suspended from the hitch) is 200 lbs. The Curt Class III Hitch, part # C13120 would be an excellent choice. As you can see, the hitch itself has higher capacities than the vehicle does, but because the vehicle's capacities are lower, you'll be limited to the capacities of the vehicle. For...

It stows in the cargo area of the vehicle and you pull it out when needed and shut the rear hatch on the wires. • I do have a hitch solution for you, but I checked Draw-Tite and they do not recommend the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch # 75717 as a fit for the 2011 Kia Sportage SX Turbo. For your vehicle you would want a Curt Trailer Hitch # C13120. This hitch is confirmed to fit on the SX Kia Sportage models and should work very well for you. I attached installation instructions for you to check out also. To complete your towing setup you may be interested in the following products: Curt...

  • Yes, the tab is intended to mount the electrical trailer connector. Your electric trailer connector will mount up to the bracket just as it did on the factory hitch of your 2011 Kia Sportage. There is also another hole that will allow for mounting a smaller sized bracket, the spacing measured 1-3/4 inches on center. To complete your towing setup, you may be interested in the following items: Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 2923 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19260 2 Inch Hitch...

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories Recommended for 2011 Kia Sportage SX Turbo Model
  • Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite and Curt now make hitches that are compatible with the SX turbo model, although that wasn't always the case. I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13120 because it has the highest tongue weight capacity at 525 lbs and is the least expensive option. Curt makes a high quality product, so the fact that you'll save a dollar or three won't mean you have to compromise anything. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need the following accessories: Trailer...

If you will be using this hitch for towing I recommend # 75717. This hitch has a maxium gross trailer weight rating of up to 5,250 pounds, and a tongue weight rating of 525 pounds. If...

  • Class III Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2010 Kia Sportage V6
  • Curt Class III trailer hitch # 13526 is indeed a fit for your 2010 Kia Sportage V6. Class III hitches like this are great for towing and for hitch mounted accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. • Higher Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Kia Sportage
  • For your 2010 Kia Sportage the highest towing capacity available is the # 75561 which has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity and a 3,500 lb total trailer weight. Not every vehicle has high capacity hitches available. For lighter duty vehicles there are lighter duty hitches made. It wouldn't really make much sense to put a heavy duty hitch on a vehicle that isn't rated for the same capacities as the hitch. Since you have a 6 cylinder model you would want the part # 118401 for trailer wiring. If...

  • Which Trailer Hitch is Recommended for a 2007 Kia Sportage Towing Canoes and Sailboats
  • When the choice is available, I always recommend the class III hitch with the 2" by 2" opening. This will give the greatest flexibility and largest selection of accessories. The Draw-Tite Class III trailer hitch, part # 75561, would be the ideal choice for your vehicle. It offers a 3500 pound towing and and a 350 pound tongue weight capacity. This hitch would not require the cutting of any fascia, would require no drilling, and mounts to already existing weldnuts in your vehicle's frame.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2007 Kia Sportage
  • The number of cylinders the engine has will have NO bearing on which hitch will fit. Any of the hitches we offer for the 2007 Kia Sportage will fit 4 and 6 cylinder models. Although which engine you have doesn't dictate the hitch used, it will dictate the trailer wiring harness. For the best hitch at the best price point, I'd recommend going with the Curt Class III, part # 13526. If you plan on towing with the hitch, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system. For trailer...
