Kia Soul Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendations for 2015 Kia Soul
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C11385, was custom designed to fit your 2015 Kia Soul. Curt does require the use of stabilizing straps like the # 18050 for all non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt. The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 24915, that you mentioned, has not been tested or confirmed to fit on the 2015 model. If you plan on doing any towing you will also need...

All of the hitches offered for your 2014 Soul are light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I types. No 2-inch hitch is offered for your vehicle. • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Kia Soul
  • For your 2013 Kia Soul let's first start with a hitch if you don't have one already. For that you would want the Draw Tite Hitch part# 24839. See install video attached. Bike racks at minimum will add about a foot to the back of a vehicle when installed. When we installed the Thule T2 Bike Rack part # TH917XTR on a similar Soul as yours we found it added right at 12 inches when folded up. Check out the review video I attached that shows this rack demoed on a very similar Soul as yours.

  • Why Won't My 1-1/4 inch Ball Mount Slide Into a Class I Hitch
  • It sounds like you have a Class I hitch and are trying to use a Class II drawbar with it. Class I hitches are designed to do exactly what you are trying to do, prevent the use of a Class II accessory by not letting the holes line up. This is to prevent overloading the hitch. I attached an FAQ on hitch classifications for you to check out also. The correct ball mount to use with your Draw Tite Hitch part # 24915 would be the Sportframe Draw Bar part # 3593.

  • Weight Capacity Of Hitch On 2013 Kia Soul When Using Adapter for Bike Carrier
  • When you use any adapters on a trailer hitch you reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so if your hitch is a Class l hitch as most Kia Soul hitches are, your tongue weight capacity would be approximately 100 lbs. I could not recommend any adapter that would be able to work with your hitch and be able to handle the weight of your bike carrier and bikes as you described.
