Alright, here are a couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch such as the draw bar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 5-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 15-3/4 inches. Now, lets go ahead with the installation. Our first step with our install is going to be removing the tow hook here on the drivers side.

Next were going to give you some measurements that will help you select some accessories such as ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier.From the top of receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 15 inches and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 6 1/2 inches. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing that we need to do is make a cut up in the bumper for the hitch. If we find the center of the bumper then we can use these 2 rivets here and here.

Today on this 2011 Jeep Compass, were gonna install part number 36423 from Draw-Tite. This will also apply to part number 90156 from the Hidden Hitch.This is what the hitch looks like once installed in the vehicle. Next, well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 15 inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 5 inches. Alright, now were going to show you how the hitch is installed.On the 2011 vehicle, we do have to do some trimming on the bumper face shift. So well start doing that.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Jeep Compass
Today on this 2010 Jeep Compass, were going to be installing Draw Tite Hitch, part number 75712, and this installation will also apply to hidden hitch part number 87606. Before we get started with our hitch installation we are going to go ahead and give you a couple final install dimensions which are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little easier. From the top of the receiver opening to the ground is going to measure 14-1/2 inches, and from the center of the pin hole clear to the rear edge of the bumper is going to measure approximately 6 inches. Now lets go ahead and move on to our installation. Starting over here on the drivers side of the vehicle if you look toward the inside of the frame on the inboard side you can see weve got two existing holes here.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Jeep Compass
Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36423 on a 2007 Jeep Compass. OK, we are underneath the vehicle, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. Looking at the passengers side frame rail, you can see on the inboard side here we have got two existing holes. The hitch is actually going to come up the arms are going to come here on the inboard side. We are going to take the 5/8 bolts that are provided in the installation kit and we are going to slide them from the outboard side to the inboard side, and the hitch will go up onto those. And we are going to do that same thing for both sides of the vehicle. So I am going to take the bolts back out, and then we will go ahead and put the hitch up into position.
