Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, we'll be installing the Tow Ready, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part Number 118571. First, we'll open up the rear cargo door then we'll remove the two fasteners securing driver's side tail light housing. Next, we'll go ahead and remove the tail light housing by pulling backward towards the rear of the vehicle, popping it free from its alignment pins and fasteners underneath then we'll go ahead and press in the locking tab for the connector and remove the wiring from the tail light assembly. Next, we'll remove the rear bumper cover fastener securing here underneath the tail light assembly. We'll remove this so that we can pull out on it giving us more access to feeding our wires from underneath up into the tail light assembly area. Now, we have the driver's side tail light assembly remove, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process in the passenger side.

That one is going to connect behind the drivers side tail light assembly. The other connector, with the green and red wires, is going to be connected behind the passengers side tail light assembly. We have also got a white terminal here on the drivers side connector. That is for the ground, securing that to a metal surface. The black box in the middle is our converter box. And then, coming off the other end, we have got our 4-pole connector. And that will be staying inside the vehicle in this application.

Hyundai Santa Fe Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Questions and Answers

  • How do I Determine if a Santa Fe 2013 2.0T limited has a Towing Package
  • The best advice I can give you for determining whether or not you have the tow package wiring would be to try contacting a different Hyundai dealership. With your VIN number they should be able to tell you for sure if you have the tow package. The factory tow harness is located under the passenger side of the vehicle near the rear tire along the frame. If you find the harness that does not necessarily mean you have the tow package as some times other connections or harnesses could be missing.

  • As you probably know, many vehicles over the years have vehicles that are related to each other and are so similar that they have parts that will fit each other. This is the case with the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe. The installation on a Hyundai Santa Fe will be virtually identical to the videos we have of the Kia Sorento for trailer wiring harness # 118541. This harness will fit if your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is a Sport model with the factory tow package. If you have a Sport model but i

  • How to Connect to Reverse Light Circuit for 4 to 5-Way Adapter 47515 on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • You have a couple options for locating the reverse light circuit for the 4 to 5-Way adapter # 47515 on your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. The first, which would require some time and probably trim removal, would be to inspect the door area and see if you can locate where the factory harness runs out of the door and toward the front of the vehicle. If the wiring runs out in a way that you will not have enough space to tap into it, you would need to remove trim pieces or even the headliner to reach it.
