What our customers are saying:

Very impressed with the service, delivery was on time, price was great, and best of all I received the right hitch. I was very very skeptical that I would receive the correct hitch for our new 05 Honda Pilot, not only was it the right hitch, took all of fifteen minutes to install it. Already thinking of my next purchase

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2005 Honda Element

Okay we are going to do an install on a Honda element using part number 24720. We will take out all the spare tire and the plastic so we can actually do the install. Okay we will go ahead and clean out the trunk area and then get down to the spare tire and take that apart. What well do next is tighten this down just enough to snug it to hold it in place, and then well see where to drill or holes out using the hitch as a template.

Honda Element Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Honda Element EX for a Bike Rack
  • There is a version of the Highland Sportwing bike rack that will fit a Class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. It is # 5801200 that you referenced. As for a Class I trailer hitch for a 2010 Honda Element EX I recommend # 24720 which is the most popular Class I hitch for your vehicle. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you. The Curt hitch # C11072 would require that you use a stabilization strap # 18050 with any non-trail

  • What 2-Inch Hitch Receivers for 2008 Honda Element SC for Use with Cargo Basket and Small Trailer
  • Since you intend to use a cargo basket and/or tow a small trailer with your 2008 Honda Element SC I suggest a Class III hitch receiver that will offer higher tongue weight capacity. For your Element SC we can offer two Class III 2-inch receivers, one from HiddenHitch and one from DrawTite. Both offer 350-lb tongue weight and 3500-lb gross towing weight ratings. Both install without welding or drilling, but both do require trimming of the rear bumper fascia. We do not have any 2-inch hitch rece

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2004 Honda Element
  • I can help you get everything you will need to tow a trailer with your 2004 Honda Element. Starting with a trailer hitch I recommend going with the Class III hitch that is available for your vehicle, # 87506. It has a 2 inch receiver that is going to be compatible with more accessories than the smaller hitches. I have linked installation instructions for you. The hitch does not come with a ball mount but I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 ball siz

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation to Tow a 1,300 Pound Utility Trailer with a 2004 Honda Element
  • The Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24720 has a capacity of 2,000 pounds. It is given this rating based on its connection points on the vehicle and testing done by the manufacturer. The connection points on the vehicle for this hitch can handle the 1,300 pounds. The bolts in the spare tire well will also require the included support blocks that distribute the weight to a wider area beyond where they are attached on the vehicle. What I recommend to give you piece of mind is to go with a more sto

  • Replacement Mounting Hardware For the Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch for a 2003 Honda Element
  • Yes, you can purchase the mounting hardware for the Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch, # 60985, for your 2003 Honda Element. I have provided a link to the Replacement Hardware Kit, # RHK, and you can simply enter in the part number and manufacturer of your hitch and we will send you a complete hardware kit. I have also provided a link to the installation instructions for this trailer hitch if you needed that as well.

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2008 Honda Element SC
  • You really cannot go wrong with either the Hidden Hitch, # 87506 of the Draw-Tite hitch, # 75659, for the 2008 Honda Element SC. The Hidden Hitch is more popular, so I would go with it. As you can see in the pictures on the product page and in the customer reviews, there is not much distance between the receiver face and the end of the bumper, so any bike rack you choose will clear the bumper. Between the Yakima HighLite, # Y02437, and the Thule Helium, # TH971XT, I give a slight edge to the

  • Is a 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter Recommended for Use with a 2 inch Cargo Carrier
  • I would discourage the use of an adapter for use of 2 inch accessories in 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. The reason is that the adapter places the carrier farther away from the rear of the vehicle and hitch, creating additional torque that 1-1/4 inch hitches, especially Class I hitches, are not designed to handle. For this reason all 1-1/4 to 2 inch hitch adapters decrease the hitch or vehicle tongue weight capacity, whichever is lowest, by 50 percent, making a class one hitch only capab

  • Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier Recommendations for a 2003 Honda Element
  • For your 2003 Honda Element, I do have a solution for you, but there are no front mount trailer hitches available for your vehicle. Instead, you can use a rear mounted cargo carrier and simply relocate the license plate to the back of the carrier to be in compliance with state law. First, you will need a trailer hitch. I recommend Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, # 87506, that you have referenced. This is a class III trailer hitch so you will have plenty of tongue weight capacity, 350 pounds, and

  • Will The Hidden Hitch Class III 2 Inch Hitch # 87506 Fit A 2010 Honda Element SC
  • The Hidden Hitch Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 87506, will fit the 2010 Honda Element SC, but the rear fascia does need to be trimmed. I do not have any pictures of the hitch installed on a Honda Element. If you will be towing with this hitch you will want to check your owners manual or the Honda dealer for the towing capacity of your 2010 Honda Element SC. To complete your towing setup, you will need the following items: Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 2923 Pin and Clip, part # PC3 To

  • Does Installing Hidden Hitch Part 87506 Affect Ground Clearance on a 2005 Honda Element
  • The ground clearance may be reduced some, not much. It depends on whether or not something under the vehicle sits lower. The hitch should not stick down so far as to make going over curbs a problem I have added a link to the instructions below that will give you a good idea of where the hitch mounts.

  • Can a 2010 Honda Element EX 4WD be Flat Towed Behind an RV/Motorhome
  • According to my research, the 2010 Honda Element is flat towable as is. You will still want to consult the vehicle owners manual for any additional specific information on towing the vehicle. Roadmaster does offer a set of base plates for the 2010 Element, except for SC models. The base plate kit I would recommend is the Roadmaster XL Style Kit, part # 1541-3. Roadmaster has a large offering of tow bars as well. I have added a link to the options compatible with XL style base plates. Yo

  • Attachment Points to Install Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch # 87506 on a 2008 Honda Element
  • The Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, # 87506, for the 2008 Honda Element (excludes SC models) does not require any additional fasteners for installation. It comes with all the hardware needed to install it on your vehicle. The hitch attaches to the frame rails using existing holes. These holes will be on the sides of the frame rails and not on the bottom. There may be caps or plugs covering the holes that need to be removed first. I have included a link to the installation instructions below.

  • What Is Tongue Weight And Will Hidden Hitch, # 60985, Fit On 2009 Honda Element
  • The first thing you will want to check in the owners manual or with the car dealer is the GCVWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating). The GCVWR is the weight capacity for your vehicle, which includes the vehicle, trailer and the contents. The Trailer Hitch for the 2009 Honda Element, # 60985, will only work on a 2009 Honda Element that is not an SC model. If your vehicle is not a SC model then it would fit and work fine for towing the 750-800 lb. trailer. The Gross Towing Weight on the Hidd
