Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Honda Civic
Today on this 2002 Honda Civic, we are going to be installing part number 24706 from Draw-Tite. And this also applies to Hidden Hitch part number 60867. OK, the first thing that I am going to do is go ahead and show you the mounting locations for our hitch. It is going to be the existing hole right here and it is going to be the same on both sides. We are also going to mount here to the tow loop. Now, in order to put our hitch up, we are actually going to have to fish wire our carriage bolt and block through this existing hole here. But, it is not wide enough so we are actually going to have to make it a little wider so our parts can fit through. We are just going to use a hammer and a chisel. We are just going to check and see if our block fits through. And it seems like it does so that is a good sign. 0:41
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Honda Civic
Today on this 2007 Honda Civic we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 24763. This installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 60822. We are underneath the vehicle, taking a look at the passenger side frame rail first, we are going to do a couple of things in preparation before we can get started installing our trailer hitch. First thing we need to do is lower the exhaust off the rear most hanger right here. What you want to do is spray down the two studs on the exhaust here with a spray lubricant, like a WD-40, and just take a pry bar or a screwdriver if you do not have one and pry those off of there. The exhaust will then come down for you and give you more room to work. :47
Today on this 2009 Honda Civic we will be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 24763. This installation will also apply for the Hidden Hitch part number 60822. We are underneath the vehicle and we are actually looking at the passenger side frame rail. We need to do a couple of things in preparation before we can actually get started pointing out the mounting holes for the trailer hitch. As you can see we have got our exhaust here on the passenger side. We need to go ahead and lower it down to get it out of the way. To do that we are going to remove it off of its rubber hanger here using just a spray lubricant like a WD-40. Before we can remove the heat shield, we need to actually remove this plastic shroud from underneath here. Because the fourth bolt for the heat shield is actually covered by our shroud.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid
Today we are going to install part number 24763 on our 2008 Honda Civic hybrid model. The hitch is going to install above the exhaust on this frame rail behind the heat shield right here. It wraps all the way around the muffler. It is also going to attach to the tow hook right here. Also on the frame rail over here just on this side of the shroud. The first step is to remove the exhaust and also, to do that, we need to remove the rubber isolator from the exhaust muffler. And that will give us some wiggle room. Next we have to unbolt this heat shield right here. Alright next what needs to happen is that this rivet right here has to be removed. We will put it back up when we are done. What we are going to do now is go ahead and hang the hitch. We are going to start off at the tow loop. As you can see, we have the U-bolt hanging down from it. It might be a good idea to have an extra set of hands to work around the muffler.
