Today on our 1996 GMC Savan Van, we're going to install the car hitch part number 13040. Here are a couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is four inches. From the top of the receiving tube to the ground is 12-3/4 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as the drawbar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. Now let's go ahead with the installation.

Today on this 1997 GMC Savana, were gonna install part number 14090 from Curt.This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next, well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 4 inches and from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 13 inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.First thing were gonna do is show you where the hitch mounts up in the frame. Were gonna use these existing holes here, here and here. Today on this 2005 GMC Savana Van we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 82580. Before we get started with our installation we are going to give you a couple of final installed dimensions which are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 14-3/ 8 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to be approximately 4-1/ 2 inches. Today on this 2003 GMC Savana Van we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 82580 and this installation will also apply for part number 41521. Looking underneath the vehicle we are looking at the passenger side frame rail. We want to point out the mounting holes we are going to be using for our trailer hitch. You can see at the bottom of the frame we have got four existing holes. We are going to be using the three rear most ones as our attaching points for our trailer hitch. Today at Etrailer.com we are going to be working on this 2008 GMC Savana. We are going to be installing part number 82580 from Hidden Hitch. This also applies to part number 41521 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we are going to be doing is showing you the mounting locations for our hitch. There is going to be three holes on each side. Today on this 1998 GMC Savana Van we will be installing a Draw-Tite hitch part number 41921. Looking at the underneath of the vehicle we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting holes that we are going to be using to install our trailer hitch. Over here on the passenger side you can see we have got two existing holes here at the end of the frame rail and then two holes closer together more at the forward side. For this hitch installation we are going to need to enlarge each one of these holes to 9/ 16 and that application is going to apply for the driver side as well. 00:31
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 GMC Savana
Today we are going to install part number 41921 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2006 GMC Savana van. We are going to show you where the hitch mounts onto the frame. It uses these four existing holes in the frame - one, two, three, four - and it uses this hole in the side of the frame, too. And it is going to be identical on both sides. To get started, what we need to do is actually drill these holes out to 9/16. They are already 1/2 inch, so it is really easy drilling. And you want to do the same on both sides.

Trailer Hitch Installation: Drop bolts through easy access points on the frame. Next is a simple matter of holding the hitch up and putting the nuts on. Before tightening the bolts up, be sure to center the hitch up with the frame using the edge of a weld. After centering go ahead and tighten the bolts, and the van is ready to go.
