Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Dodge Charger

Today on this 2006 Dodge Charger, we will be installing wiring harness part number 118404. We are in the trunk area of the Charger here and we want to go ahead and locate the port for our wiring harness. The ports are located directly behind the tail light assemblies here inside the trunk compartment. So we need to go ahead and remove the interior carpeting here to gain access to those. To do that we just need to remove the screw here on both sides of the vehicle and we just pull that back. You see once we do that, right in the back of the tail light assembly is our connection point. As you see there is a red tab here at the top. We want to push that over and then there is also a button here at the top we push that in and disconnect the two like so. 00:41

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Dodge Charger

Along with your custom receiver hitch for the Dodge Charger you will also need a wiring connector when pulling a trailer. We offer a custom wiring harness that requires no cutting or splicing and will provide a flat four pole connector. This will power the trailers running lights, brake lights and turn signals allowing you to safely and legally tow your toys, boat and trailer. You may also want this to power lights on a cargo trailer or to use a light up receiver hitch cover.

I attached a copy of the installation instructions for the # C56135 for you to check out, but to install it you will basically need to access the tail light harnesses of both your driver and passenger side taillights and plug the connectors from the # C56135 inline with those harnesses. You will then need to run th

  • Trailer Lights Stop Working and Blinker Flashes when Connected to a 2007 Dodge Charger
  • There are a few things that you can check to determine what the problem may be on your 2007 Dodge Charger. First check the connectors for the harness and where they connect to the vehicle. You may find a bent terminal that you can put back into place. If the trailer has a lot of extra lights then it could be overloading the harness and the electrical system on your 2007 Dodge Charger. The system is rated for a maximum of 1 stop/turn light per side (7.5 amps), and a maximum of tail light power
