Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite

Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's nice and tucked up underneath our bumper here, has a very clean look. This nice welded-on collar outside the receiver gives it a finished appearance and helps give it some more strength. Towards the front of our vehicle we have our industry standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole right here. Towards the rear we have a J pin stabilization device hole.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing the draw tight max frame class 3 trailer hitch receiver. Part number 76028. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's nice and ticked up underneath our bumper cover here. The one part really hanging down is the class 3 two inch receiver right here, our safety chain loops and then the main frame of the hitch right here. It looks like a 5-3 installation because it doesn't hang down too much and the angle of the frame on the hitch follows the bumper lines. This hitch features a 4500 pound max gross trailer weight rating and a 675 pound max for its tongue weight rating. This hitch does support the use of weight distribution. However, the numbers don't change as far as capacity.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Draw-Tite class two trailer hitch receiver, part number 36408. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's a nice clean look. It's all pretty much hidden behind our bumper cover here. The only part that's exposed is our actual class two 1-1/4" receiver opening and our safety chain loops, and about a foot or so of our frame of the hitch itself. These safety chain loops are nice and easy to use.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Curt

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the curt class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 13591. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's a nice clean look underneath our vehicle. Nothing's hanging down below the bumper cover at all. It's all hidden bu our receiver. If you look at it, it's about flush with the back end of the bumper, it's recessed a little bit actually. We don't have to worry about running our knees or shins into it when we're loading any cargo in to our hatch area.

It's going to fit into this factory spot where a trailer hitch would go. It's got a black powder coated finish that's going to help with keep corrosion and rust off of it. It's got the ring-style safety chain loops that are fairly large, so it'll accommodate most of your safety chain hooks. It's going to have a 5/8" hitch pin hole, as well as this 1/2" hole in front of it.

  • Fishwire Tips and Spacer Block Orientation to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Chevy Equinox
  • By kinking the wire it just means you will bend it somewhere between the bolt and the spacer so that when you pull the bolt through it doesn't get stuck inside the frame from being bound up with the block. The blocks do not go in the frame any certain way. Once you start to tighten them the block will turn as well until it hits the side of the frame allowing you to tighten the bolt without it spinning. I have actually linked you 3 videos showing installation of Curt hitch # 13591....

  • Availability of 2-Inch Class III Hitch for 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
  • Your bike rack requires a 2-inch rear-mounted hitch receiver for installation on any vehicle and we do offer the correct hitch for your 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. The best option is the Draw-Tite 2-inch Class III hitch # 76028 because it is both the lower-priced choice and offers higher tongue weight capacity than the alternative product, Curt hitch # 13591. The Draw-Tite installs without drilling and it includes all required mounting hardware. Both the written instructions and a helpful video...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Equinox
  • The main difference between the two hitches you referenced is that the # 13591 is a Class III hitch that has a 2 inch opening which will have higher towing capacities and more accessories designed for it and the # C12291 is as Class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch opening with fewer accessory options. Both will fit your 2013 Equinox, but for the reasons I listed I would go with the # 13591. A 1/2" x 30" FISHWIRE is included with this hitch as well as all of the needed hardware to install...

  • Will Using a Class III Trailer Hitch Pull the Bumper off of a 2013 Chevy Equinox
  • Considering that Curt trailer hitch # 13591 does not mount to the bumper but to the frame of the 2013 Chevy Equinox like you said your bumper will be just fine. The smaller Class II hitches also attach to the vehicle in the same places so I am not sure what they are talking about. There is an attachment point at the center of the hitch that attaches to the metal part of the bumper beam but that beam is also attached to the vehicle frame so no worries there either. • The highest-rated hitch for your 2012 Chevrolet Equinox is a 2-inch Class III hitch such as Curt # 13591 rated for 350-lbs tongue weight. Tongue weight is the downward force on a hitch. In the case of a mobility scooter and its ramped carrier, the combined total weight of these two items must remain within this 350-lb hitch capacity. You will first want to confirm the actual weight of your particular scooter. Then you can subtract this weight from the 350-lb hitch capacity to determine...
