What our customers are saying:

I havent even received my Hitch and wiring kit yet and Im already incredibly impressed with the customer service. When my hitch that I selected was back ordered I didnt get a cookie-cutter email, I got a phone call, by a real-live person, in under 12 hours! They explained my options, and had a different manufacturers item in its place shipped out same-day. Not only will I buy from again, Im telling everyone I know who wants a hitch who to use.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 87458 from Hidden Hitch on a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. OK, we are underneath the vehicle, and the first thing we want to do is go ahead and remove the spare tire to give you a little more working room to get the hitch up into place. Looking at the passengers side frame rail, we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the hitch. At the bottom of the frame, there is an existing hole here that is going to be used for the bottom of the frame mounting location. And on the side of the frame we have got two bolts that are existing. So the first thing we want to do is to go ahead and remove these bolts from both sides of the frame.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

Today we are going to install hitch part number 82641 on a 2008 Chevy Colorado, and this hitch also fits models from 2004 through 2007, as well as 2004 through 2008 GMC Canyon. On the side of the frame we need to remove this rear-most bolt that attaches the bumper and bracket to the frame. And on the bottom, on pre-2008 models there are actually going to be two logistic holes here. On this 2008 model, there is actually a weld nut with a bolt into here, which we are actually going to take out, and we will be using this hole as well. We need to do that on both sides of the frame.

Chevrolet Colorado Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • How are the Bolts Installed on Boxed Frame to Install a Curt Hitch on a 2005 Chevy Colorado
  • There is a technique used to access hard reach bolt holes called fishwiring. Its basically attaching a carriage bolt and spacer to a wire and then fishing it through an access hole in the frame. I attached a video on this technique that shows you exactly what I am talking about. I also attached a video of a very similar hitch as the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13252 that you referenced on a similar Colorado as yours. The fishwire is included with this hitch also.

  • Will the Addition of an Equalizer Hitch Increase the Towing Capacity for a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
  • Your salesman is correct in that a weight distribution system will, in most cases, allow a vehicle to tow additional weight, but the amount of additional weight is not a static number and is vehicle specific. You should check your owners manual, or the vehicle dealer, for hitch specifications for the Max Gross trailer weight allowable when using a weight distributing hitch. I checked the online owners manual for a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado. If this is the the vehicle you will be towing with, t

  • I spoke with my contact at Cequent, the manufacturer, about your question on installing the Hidden Hitch, # 87458, on your 2006 Chevy Colorado. He stated that if you would need to support the bumper there would be a notice in the instructions. But he went on to say that it has been his experience that whether it is needed or not, it always helps to have another person hold the bumper and/or hitch in place while performing the hitch installation.
