Best 2013 Ford Van Trailer Wiring Options
Today on our 2013 Ford van, we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options available. The first one's going to be our Curt Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector and that's part number C56020. The second one's going to be our Tekonsha T-One Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector and that's part number 118551. Both of which are going to come with a four pole flat connector to hook up to your trailer. This is the end result, the main differences between the wiring harnesses are is that the Tekonsha uses a power module and this is going to prevent you van from overloading or shorting out. It does this by connecting directly to the battery, and it copies the signal to our trailer. The Curt, however, is used for light duty applications. It doesn't use a module so you have more risk of overloading or shorting out.

Today on this 2013 Ford van, we're going to take a look at the best hitch options available. All right, these are our three hitches we have here. First one on top, we have our Ultra Frame from Draw-Tite, part number 41945. Now this is a Class 5 hitch. Next one up is a CURT, part number 14055. This one is a Class 4 hitch.
DeeZee Rough Step Steel Running Boards Installation - 2013 Ford Van
Today on our 2013 Ford Van E-350, we're going to install running boards and DZ, part number DZ2544. The first step is to go ahead and start working on our end caps for our running boards. We'll go ahead and pre-assemble the end cap, which is a small, channel shaped piece of metal with holes on one side. Then we're going to loosely attach a strap bracket. It's basically a flat piece of steel of the same length with the same matching holes. Well go ahead and loosely install them together using a quarter inch bolt, two flat washers and a nut. With these parts loose, we'll go ahead and install it on the end of the running board.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Ford Van - Draw-Tite
All right, today in this 2013 Ford Van E350 we're going to install part number 41906 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like once installed in the van. Next we'll go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From top of the receiver opening down the ground will be about 17 inches. The center of the hitch pin hole is actually past the edge of the bumper. Now I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. Before we start our install we're going to go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up to the frame.
Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Ford Van
Today on this 2013 Ford van were going to install part number 37185 from Hopkins. Just the adaptor four-pole to seven-pole and four-pole. Now to help us install this part were also going to use another bracket, part number 18136, no drill not in bracket, long version.Were going to use this bracket to mount our seven-pole connector to our hitch. Well do a quick test fit and you can see how the bracket will sit at a angle instead of straight back from the truck. Well go ahead and modify ours to make ours straight back.Okay, now on the short edge Ill grab the top of the hitch were actually going to make a mark. Well go ahead and make a mark half inch to five inaudible 00:43 half over.
All right. Today in our 2013 Ford van, we're going to install part number C56020 from Curt. This is the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness. To start off our install, we're going to have to remove the tail lights. There are four screws in each tail lights that we have to remove. We'll do this on both sides.

From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 18 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole from the bumper is about one inch, and the hitch pin hole is further out from the bumper. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.
