Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Ford F-350

Today in our 2012 Ford F-350, we're going to be installing the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part number 9460-48. Our first step is going to be to lower the rear exhaust tailpipe. To do this, I've found it's easiest to go ahead and remove the rear bracket fasteners and three flange fasteners, and go ahead and remove the tailpipe from the truck. Next, we'll remove the hangers here. First, we'll spray them with some spray lubricant, and then remove the rubber isolators. This will allow us easier access in between the frame ramps.

Now we've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire from the vehicle so our next step will be to remove the exhaust. We'll need to unbolt the hangers from the frame of the truck as we'll need to install hanger extensions before reinstalling our exhaust we'll undo the rear hanger here undoing the 1/10-mm bolt on the bottom side of the frame as well as the 10-mm bolt on the inside of the frame rail. We can then move forward on the truck and undo the two 13-mm nuts holding that hanger in place. They do face up towards the bed of the truck. It is quite a tight fit to get those undone.

This system has a tongue weight capacity range of 1,000 to 1,700 pounds. The problem is that you may have to modify or remove the items on the trailer tongue, primarily the chest and platform the battery is setting on in order to use the system. One thing to consider is if the springs are mounted on top of the axle, going to a single leaf spring like TE30 will cause the deck of the trailer to sit lower. Some things that will lessen the likelihood or severity of the interference is an unobstructed path from the camera to the monitor, a short distance between the camera and monitor, and of course turning off anything you can that operates on 2.5 GHz. • Comparing Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes of a 5th Wheel Trailer
  • I always recommend choosing disc brakes over drum brakes if you have the option. Disc brakes will provide more stopping power, less fade and require less maintenance because they have fewer moving parts. If your 5th wheel trailer currently has electric disc brakes and you want to convert to hydraulic disc brakes, then you will need not only the brakes, but a brake line kit and an electric-over-hydraulic actuator for disc brakes. You will also need a brake controller for your tow vehicle if y

This type of jaw is a secure one for your trailer but you will notice some king pin noise and some chucking as the fit is looser. This design will automatically close around the king pin once it is in place where the double- and single-jaw models will not. The double jaw design is more snug and secure than a slide bar jaw and you will he
