  • Trailer Hitch for a 2005 Kia Sorento with a Larger 265/70-16 Spare Tire
  • The trailer hitches for the 2005 Kia Sorento have only been tested on the stock tire sizes. The 265/70-16 is larger than the stock size so it is not likely to fit with the hitch installed. But the only way to tell for sure is to test it. I show that the stock size on a 2005 Sorento is a 245/70-16. The larger 265/70-16 is 0.79 inches wider and 1.1 inches larger in diameter. Given the width and overall diameter is larger it could be a factor. You may find that you will need to either move t

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2005 Kia Optima and 2008 Hyundai Tucson
  • For the 2005 Kia Optima, I have included a link to the installation instructions for Curt hitch # 24709. For the 2008 Hyundai Tucson, I have included a link to instructions for Curt hitch # 13526. The Curt hitch for the Tucson is the most popular hitch option for that vehicle. The Tucson will also have the higher towing capacity of the 2 vehicles if trailer weight is an issue. For the Optima I recommend going with the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24709 because it installs just a little differen

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike rack Recommendations for a 2005 Kia Amanti
  • Out of all of the trailer hitches available for the 2005 Kia Amanti, I recommend going with a Class II trailer hitch because it is sturdier than a Class I and will allow you to carry more bikes. Out of the 2 different Class II trailer hitches for your vehicle, I would go with the Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 36415. This hitch is more cost effective because it does not come with a ball mount, pin and clip. Since you want to use the hitch for a bike rack, you do not need the extra parts. If you d

  • Rack and Post Dimensions and Bolt Hole Pattern for the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack # BD165412
  • I went out to the warehouse to take the measurements that you asked for. The diameter of the post on the Bulldog Heavy-Duty Rack-and-Gear Jack, # BD165412, is 1-1/16 inches, and the overall width is 2 inches including the rack that is mounted on the side of the post. The rack measures 3/4 inches wide by 3/8 inches thick. The base of the gear and handle assembly is triangular and the bolt hole pattern is 3 inches on center. I have added a photo with the dimensions I took for you to review.

  • Yes, the Thule Raceway Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, item # TH9003, can be used to carry 2 bikes on the 2005 Kia Sorento. We recently had a chance to test the Thule Raceway with the manufacturer representative here at out facility, and this rack is an excellent choice. It is super adjustable for any type of bike frame and for bikes of different dimensions and styles. We have a video review of this rack for you to check out that includes a road test with the rack mounted on a VW Jetta, see l

  • Catalytic Converter Recommendation for a 2005 Kia Rio
  • The MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter, part # MF36103, you referenced is designed to be used on vehicles that are older than 1996 and use OBDI computer systems. You would need a MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter, part # MF50881. This catalytic converter is designed to work specifically on the 2005 Kia Rio, and due to the design of the exhaust system on your daughters 2005 Kia Rio, a universal converter would not be a feasible option.
