Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Impala well be test fitting the Pro Rack 2 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches part number PR8062403. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt tightening with a wrench and putting the clip on the other side. As you can see, we can gain access to the trunk of our vehicle without having to tilt our carrier. If we choose to tilt our carrier, all we have to do is pull this in here at the base. Now well go over some clearance measurements. We have about 10 inches of ground clearance.

Then our first step will be removing the rear threshold. There are a couple of fasteners that will need to be removed first. Now we are going to get our trim tool or a flat headed screw driver to get underneath the threshold and just pry it up. There's several plastic fasteners underneath threshold still holding it in place.
