Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Subaru Forester
Today were working on 2011 Subaru Forester. Were going to install current Hitch part numbers 13147. Here are couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is four inches. From the top to the receiver tube to the ground is 15 inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation.
Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Subaru Forester
Today working on a 2011 Subaru Forester, were going to install a Tow-Ready T-One Connector part# 118467. Go ahead and remove the cargo cover, were going to remove the center foam tray and the driver's side foam tray to access the wiring underneath. And you see it gives us access to the manufacturer's trailer wiring. Now we can take our new Tow-Ready Connector and plug it into the manufacturers connection port. With our port connected we need to mount our converter box, we'll peel back the cover of the two-side adhesive and mount it to the sheet metal. Were mounting it to the sheet metal make sure you've got a good flat clean surface.
Yakima FlipSide 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Subaru Forester
Today on this 2011 Subaru Forester, we're going to do a test fit of part number Y02426 from Yakima, the FlipSide 4 Bike Carrier. One quick note about this bike rack is that it will work with 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches. However, it can only be in class 2 hitch. This will also work with class 3 receiver hitches with the included spacer. We'll go ahead and start off by installing the rack into the hitch, tightening down the anti-rattle bolt and putting the safety pin on the other side. Now, the bike rack does come with a tool to tighten down the anti-rattle bolt.
Thule Helium Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Subaru Forester
Alright today on this 2011 Subaru Forester, were going to do a test fit of part number th970xt from Thule. The Helium Aluminum 2 Bike Carrier. Couple notes about this carrier is that it will work on 1-1/4 receiver hitches both class one and class two. It will also work on a class three receiver hitch as we are going to use here, and the bike rack does come with a bushing so that you can do that. Okay well start off by installing the bike rack into the hitch; we will line up the pin hitch holes and put in the key into the hitch and into the bike rack. We will turn the key 90 degrees and then we can tighten up the bike rack with the anti-rattle knob.

This bike carrier will work on 1-1/4 receiver hitches, class one and class two, and will also work on a 2 receiver as shown here with the included bushing. One quick not about this, the bike rack is intended for a 2" receiver hitch only. We'll start up by installing the bike rack into the hitch, tightening down the anti-rattable and putting lock on the other side. The bike rack does come with tool tightened on the bolt, however a 3/4" wrench works just as well. Next we'll give you some measurements that give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the vehicle, and the bicycle rack and the ground. The closest from rear wheel to the bumper is going to look like 1".
