Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Nissan Xterra

Today on this 2010 Nissan Xterra we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13514. We are underneath the vehicle and the first thing we have done is lower the spare tire out of the way to give us a little bit more working room. Over on the passenger side we are going to lower down our exhaust system. We are going to remove it off of its rear most hanger which is attached to the frame on the end board side. There are three screws holding it in to place so we are going to unbolt that now. With the exhaust lowered off of its rear hanger we can point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to install the trailer hitch. 00:35

2010 Nissan Xterra Questions and Answers

  • Raising Rola Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier 59052 Up a Few Inches on a 2010 Nissan Xterra
  • The Rola trailer hitch mount cargo carrier, # 59502, has a rise in the shank already that raises the platform up 2 inches. The Nissan Xterra is a tall enough vehicle to where you most likely would not need any additional rise. But if you did you would need to use something like # MT70066 to raise it up a few more inches. The lighting kit for this carrier # 20174 has a 4-Way flat connector. If your Xterra only has a 7-Way, you will need an adapter like # PK12716 and it will work great. As

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2010 Nissan Xterra without Factory Tow Package
  • It sounds like you need the relay for the running light circuit to function on your 2010 Nissan Xterra. Wiring harness # 118525 comes with 3 relays to make the harness fully functional. This harness is designed specifically if the vehicle did not come with the factory tow package.

  • Adding Crossbars to the Factory Side Rails on a 2010 Nissan Xterra to Carry Surfboards
  • I do have a roof rack solution for your 2010 Nissan Xterra. Take a look at the Thule Crossroads system, # TH45050. The feet mount to the side rails with a rubber strap that goes around the rails. Once tightened down this connection is as solid as can be. Take a look at the video I have linked as an example. If sportier bars are what you are looking for then you would use the Rapid Aero Crossroads, # TH450R, and AeroBlade bars, # THARB43. This bars are more aerodynamic and produce less wind no

  • Installation of Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2010 Nissan Xterra
  • Step 4 in the instructions for wiring harness # 118525, linked for reference, seems to be where you are running into a little trouble. Before plugging in the harness to the vehicle behind that kick panel, you will need to insert the relays on the the connector. On the other end of the 12 pin connector there are 3 ports, one for each of the relays. The brown one goes with the brown relay and the white plugs go with the blue relays. After you have plugged in everything you can tuck in the wiri

  • Tow Ready Trailer Tail Light Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2010 Nissan Xterra
  • The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118525 that you referenced includes relays and uses the 12 volt power source that is behind the passenger side kick panel. Once installed on your 2010 Nissan Xterra it would not overload the tail light circuitry of your vehicle as this unit draws the amperage needed to activate the 4-way circuits from an external 12 volt source. It only uses the tail light circuits as signal wires, and then draws the amperage from the external 12 volt source. I at

  • Will a SportRack Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Fit a 2009 Nissan Xterra Offroad Factory Roof Rack
  • In order to determine if the SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier, # A21030, will fit your 2009 Nissan Xterra, you will need to measure the diameter or thickness of the cross bars that run side to side on the roof. If they are 3-1/2 inches in diameter or less, then the carrier will fit. Yakima lists some baskets as a direct fit to factory Nissan crossbars. You can use the LoadWarrior, # Y07070, or the MegaWarrior, # Y07080.

  • Availability of Brake Controller Wiring for a 2010 Nissa Xterra with Factory Tow Package
  • Currently, there is no wiring harness made for the 2010 Nissan Xterra with a factory tow package. If it is anything like the 2010 Nissan Titan, there should be a factory harness located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. It is a 6-pin connector that mates with the # 3050-P brake control wiring adapter, so you would use # 90195-3050P for the brake controller and wiring harness. I recommend checking ahead of time to see if the ha

  • Replacement Bulb for RV Combo Interior Light with Fan # RVFL51
  • I spoke with my contact at Optronics and they informed me that for a replacement bulb in your RV Combination Interior Light with Fan, part # RVFL51. You would need a 912, 921 or 922 wedge style bulb. The original bulb was an incandescent bulb, if you wanted an LED bulb to replace it with I would recommend you use a Putco PURE Premium 921 Wedge, part # P230921A-360-S. The benefits of LED bulbs are that they are brighter, draw less amperage, create less heat and last much longer. I linked

  • Roof Rack Options for a 2010 Nissan Xterra with Factory Installed Side Rails that Run Front to Back
  • According to Yakima, the RailGrab Towers for Flat and Raised Side Rails, # Y00138, will fit the large diameter round side rails that run front to back on your 2010 Nissan Xterra. I have included a link to the installation details for reference. The RailGrabs in Yakima RailGrab and CrossBar Roof-Rack Kit, # Y00140, will also fit, but this is a kit with longer cross bars that are not recommended for the Nissan Xterra. Instead, you would use Round 48 Inch CrossBars, # Y00408 with RailGrabs, # Y0

  • Hitch Recommendation for Use with a Rage Double Bike Carrier on a 2010 Nissan Xterra
  • Yes, this hitch should work to haul your 2 motorcycles with the Rage PowerSport Aluminum Double Motorcycle Carrier, part # AMC6002. The shipping weight for this carrier is 74 lbs. If you add that to the 392 lbs that your bikes weigh you are at 466 lbs, which is below the limit for the Valley Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch, part # V82852, by 34 lbs. The only thing that might create an issue would be if you got your bikes excessively muddy and the additional weight of

  • What Watersport Carriers Are Available For Thule And Yakima Crossbars On A 2010 Nissan Xterra
  • For your 2010 Nissan Xterra you could use the Thule Hang Two Surf Carrier, # TH554XT, it holds two surfboards. You need to have at least 24 inches between the crossbars to use this carrier. Both Thule products can be used on Thule and Yakima crossbars. Also the Yakima CrossBar Pads, # Y04008, can be used with the StrapThang carrier to protect the boards from damage. For waterskis I have two carriers you could use, the Thule Ski Carrier, # TH92724, and the Yakima Ski Carrier, # Y03081.

  • 2010 Nissan Xterra Brake Controller Wiring Harness Avalibility and Installation
  • The information we have at this time is that the 2010 Nissan Xterra does not have a aftermarket brake controller connector available for a connection of a brake control wiring harness if the factory 7-way connector wiring package is not installed on the vehicle. If your vehicle has the factory 7-Way wiring then the part you referenced is correct and the connector is located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
