Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Ford F-250

Today on this 2009 F-250 we will be installing the front hitch part number 65049. We are underneath the front of the vehicle here, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. We are actually looking at the passenger side frame rail on the outboard side and we have got a couple holes visible. If you look more forward towards the bumper side you will see a 9/ 16 size hole right there. That is going to provide our forward most attaching point for our trailer hitch. I do want to note on some of the newer model vehicles with four wheel drive. It has a bigger air dam here at the front and this air dam will need to be trimmed on those four wheel drive models. If you do need to trim the air dam just go ahead and give it a test fit and maybe take some dimension and go ahead and cut it before you get started. 00:40

  • Installing a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2009 Ford F-250
  • If you are looking for a replacement 7-way trailer connector for your 2009 Ford F-250, you can use either the Tow Ready Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Connector, # 20119, or the Pollack Replacement 7-way Socket, # PK11893. Keep in mind, these will only work if your truck came with a factory 7-way connector and you are simply looking for a replacement connector. If your truck only has a 4-way flat connector and you are looking to upgrade to a 7-way way connector, then I recommend using

  • Troubleshooting 6-way Trailer Connector on 1999 Ford F350 Flatbed Truck
  • There are actually two different accepted methods of wiring a 6-way trailer connector. The center pin on a 6-way trailer connector usually carries the 12-volt accessory circuit that is used for any trailer mounted accessories that might need a power feed, although sometimes it can be wired so it carries the output voltage from the brake controller to the trailer brakes. If you take a look at the FAQ article I have linked you to, you can see a wiring diagram showing how a 6-way should be wired

  • Will Snowplow Brackets Need to be Removed for a Front Mount Hitch on a 2009 F-350 4x4 Crew Cab
  • The brackets for your Fisher plow will need to be removed to install a front mount trailer hitch on your 2009 Ford F-350. The brackets for your Fisher plow and the front mount hitch both bolt to the same location of the frame on your truck, so both items could not be installed together. If you wanted to have the convenience of both a front mount hitch and a snowplow, then I recommend checking out our Agri-Cover SnowSport hitch mounted snowplows. We have three plows that will work with a 2 inc

  • Will a Trailer Drain the Battery on a 2009 Ford F-350 if the Trailer Stays Plugged In
  • On some vehicles, the 12 volt circuit will not be hot unless the key or engine is turned on/running. Test the 12 volt pin on the 7-Way with a circuit tester like # 3808 if needed to see if the 12 volt circuit is hot all the time. If it is, the easiest solution is to unplug the trailer when the vehicle is off. Another option is to install a battery isolation solenoid # TR118665. For this you would run a lead from the positive battery terminal to the input of the solenoid. Then you would run a

Then measure from the gooseneck hitch ball in the truck to the back of the truck cab. That dimension should be 4 inches more than your first measurement for correct clearance.
