Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado - Curt

Today on our 2008 Chevy Silverado, well be installing the Curt Class 5 HD Hitch Receiver, part number C15322. This is what our hitch will look like once its installed. Next well go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 19 inches. This will assist you in selectin accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. To make it easier to install our hitch, weve already gone ahead and lowered or removed the spare tire.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2008 Chevy Silverado, well be installing the Draw Tite Hitch, part number 75362. This is what our hitch will look like once it is installed. Husky Front Center Hump Floor Liner Review - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today we're going to do a test fit of part number hl82281 from Husky Liners. This is a Weather Beater custom auto floor line for the front center hump on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. Now working with the black color this is also available as tan is part number hl82283 and gray is part number hl82282.To start our test fill we'll go ahead and lay it in place. If there are any pre-existing liners we would want to go ahead and remove them. Now that we've put in place you can see its custom molded to match the vehicle. You can see ion the passenger side how it wraps a little further up and on the driver's side it wraps around support and matches the contour of the floor.We'll pull up one side and look under.



Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to install part number 20110 from Draw Tite. This is the fifth wheel and goose neck wiring harness. First thing we're going to do is go ahead and find a location for our seven pole connector. We're going to locate it on the inside edge of the bed behind the driver's side taillight. Once we have that established we'll go ahead and drill a 3/4 inch pile hole first.Then we'll follow up with a holes saw using a diameter of 2-1/8 inches. We'll go ahead and drill through the bed liner and the bed.



Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado were going to install part number 9465-54. This is a Hide-a-goose hitch. To start off our install we went ahead and removed the two rear wheels to make access to the side brackets a little bit easier. We also lowered the spare tire as well. Starting on the drivers side of our frame, theres a cable bracket which holds the brake line to the inside of the frame rail. Well go ahead and loosen this bracket from the top of the frame rail and then remove it completely from the wiring harness and the brake line.



Husky Front Floor Liners Review - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today we're going to do a test fit of part number HL53101 from Husky Liners. This is our exactcontour custom auto floor liners. This is for the front row on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado.To start off our test fit, we'll go ahead and remove the existing floor liners and install the new ones.Starting on the passenger side, we'll put it into place and we see how it matches the contour of thefloor. As you can see, it goes all the way around and goes halfway at the floorboard.Now we'll go take a look at the drivers side and, once again it matches the contour of the floor. Ifwe look underneath of it, it also has some points on the bottom called nibs to help keep the linerfrom shifting on the carpet. This side also has an edge and it goes all the way around.



Husky GearBox Interior Storage System Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today in this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to do a test fit of part number HL09011 fromHusky Liners. This is the gearbox anterior storage system for pickup trucks.To start our test fit, we'll go ahead and flip up the rear seats; then we'll go ahead and remove thejack tools. We'll take the gearbox and put it into place. The stud for jack tools will end up goingthrough a hole in the gearbox, and then we'll go ahead and re-install the jack tools.Now we can go ahead and install the dividers. There will be one divider for each side, and ourgearbox is already installed. And with that, thatll finish it for Husky Liners gearbox on our 2008Chevrolet Silverado..



Du-Ha Truck Storage Box and Gun Case Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today in this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, were going to do a test fit of part number DU10047, the Du-Ha. First thing were going to do is go ahead and flip up the rear seats, and then well go ahead and remove the jack tools. Well set them aside for now. Next well position the Du-Ha on the floor where the seats would be. Push it up in position for a test fit and see how it fits. Now well go ahead and push it back out of the way.



Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado were going to install part number 39510. This is the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller. Couple of things to know about this brake controller; first off, were working with an older version of it. The older version doesnt have the port on the end of the wires. Now to start off well go ahead and look for the tow package wires underneath the dash of our truck. Well look up underneath there and we should see a blue wire, a red wire, a white wire, a light blue wire with white stripes and an orange wire.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13322. We are underneath the vehicle and we are taking a look at the passenger side frame rail. We are going to point out the mounting location for our trailer hitch. Here at the very end of the frame rail we have got an existing bolt. We are going to be removing that bolt and we are going to be using the weld nut in the frame there as our rear most attaching point for the trailer hitch. Then just forward of the spring mount we have got an existing hole in the frame and we are going to be using that as our forward most attaching point. At that location we are going to be using a carriage bolt and block assembly. We just want to merge those two together and lay them inside the frame. 00:38



Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty we are going to be installing front mount hitch part number 31109 from Curt. We are here looking at the passenger side frame rail. And you can see from the bottom we have got an existing bolt, an existing access hole, and then an existing regular sized hole as well. We are going to be fishing through the carried bolt block through this hole. We are going to pull it down into position using the fish wire that is provided with the installation kit. We are also going to be using this larger bolt here on the side of the frame. We are going to be removing it and replacing it with the new one that is provided in the installation kit. That is going to provide our vertical attachment point for the trailer hitch.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevy Silverado

Today we are going to install part number V82123 from Valley, and we are going to install this on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. First we will start off by showing you where the hitch is going to mount up to the frame. All right, the hitch is going to install using the existing hardware right here, using this hole toward the front of the vehicle. And it is going to be identical on both sides of the frame. And in the center of the bumper there are two more attaching points - these threaded fittings in the bumper. All right, we will go ahead and start taking off the existing hardware. We need to keep this, because it will get reused. And it is going to be the same thing on the drivers side. All right, next what we are going to do is go ahead and install some hardware into the frame for this attachment point right here. All right, we will install our plate, and our bolt, just like that. And we will do the same thing going back to the passengers side.



Pollak Twist-In Trailer Connector Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup we are going to be installing the Pollak Twist-in 7-pole connector part number PK11916. We are at the rear bumper of the Chevrolet Pickup and we are going to locate our mounting location for our 7-pole plug. If you look just to the left of your license plate holder. You have got an existing knock out plug that is basically just a holder for the position that we are going to be putting our 7-pole into. To release this there is a little tab on the outboard side. Just take a flat bladed screw driver or something you can get in there to press that tab in a little bit. Twist the knock-out counter clockwise 45 degrees and pull the knock out away from the vehicle. In doing so you can see on the back side we have got a plug in. 00:46



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today we are going to install part number PK11916 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this wiring part on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Basically, what this part does is it puts a 7-pole end on the back of your pickup, replacing the factory blank right here. Basically, what you are going to do is take this plate here and twist it sideways until a key comes out. And you pull out the blank and the wire harness right here. Undo the wire harness by just pushing down this pin right here, and it comes right apart.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today we are going to install part number 87430 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup. Now this will also apply to Draw-Tite part number 75521. To begin our install, we actually test fitted the hitch to make sure we had plenty of clearance for the spare tire. Now we will go ahead and show you where the hitch bolts up.

  • This sounds like a problem on the red wire. The red wire is the input wire from the brake switch that tells the controller when you are stepping on the brake pedal. Use a circuit tester like # 3808 if needed to test the wire. If there is no signal when you step on the pedal then you know this is the culprit.
