Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Honda Accord

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 24787 from Draw-Tite on a 2006 Honda Accord. This installation will also apply to Hidden Hitch part number 60953. We are underneath the vehicle. The first thing we want to do to gain access to the frame rail is to go ahead and lower the exhaust down from the passengers side frame rail. There are actually two hangers that we are going to need to remove to lower the exhaust down. The one here on the outboard side, about midway up the muffler here, that is going to need to be pried off. And I definitely recommend to spray it down with some form of spray lubricant, like a WD-40. It makes the removal a lot easier. And the second exhaust hanger that we are going to need to lower is a little bit forward here of the muffler, right dead center of the car.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Honda Accord

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118302 on a 2006 Honda Accord. We are inside the trunk area here. The connection points are actually located behind the tail light assembly, so we are going to need to remove this rear threshold piece. There are push rivets located here that are holding the threshold piece on. I am going to take a flat-bladed screwdriver and just gently pull up. OK, next I am going to go ahead and remove the carpeting. To do so, there are two Phillips-head screws that we are going to take out. We are going to remove the plastic plugs that are in here as well, and that will allow us to pull the carpeting back here. So here on the drivers side we are going to go ahead and make all three of our connections.

  • Thule Doubletrack Platform Bike Rack and Hidden Hitch Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Accord
  • Yes, as long as you have a hitch installed on your 2006 Honda Accord you would be able to install a Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier # TH990XT. I attached a video of this rack being installed and reviewed on a similar Honda Accord as yours for you to check out. If you do not have a hitch installed on your vehicle already I would recommend you get a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24787. I attached an installation video for this product also.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2006 Honda Accord Behind a Motor Home
  • Regular trailer wiring harnesses will not work in reverse. they are designed to fail if that is done to protect the vehicle wiring from damage if there were a short circuit on the trailer. You will need a kit specifically designed for flat towing. You can use a diode kit such as # 154-792-118158. Or you can use a similar kit that has the diodes all built into a single unit, # TD10000S which will make installation a little quicker and easier. You will also want to consult your vehicle owners m

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying a Beach Cruiser on a 2006 Honda Accord SE
  • We have several bike rack options that will allow you to carry your beach cruiser on your 2006 Honda Accord. Beach Cruisers are typically larger and heavier bikes from a standard adult road bike so my recommendation for you would be to use a hitch mounted bike rack like the Kuat Beta Bike Rack, # B202-114. This bike rack has a weight capacity of 80 lbs and has many useful features such as anti-sway cradles, anti-wobble shank and a tilting design allowing easy access to the trunk of your vehicle.

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Accord EX 4-Door Sedan
  • If it were me choosing between the Thule Raceway 3, # TH9002, and the Yakima Quickback 3, # Y02622, I would go with the raceway because it has more features. The Raceway comes with an integrated cable lock at the last bike position to secure the bikes to the rack. The rack can be locked into place on one side to deter theft. But the best feature is the retractable cables attachment system it uses. The Raceway mounts with 4 retractable cables rather than 6 straps like other bike racks so it in

  • Base Plates and Other Needed Accessories to Flat Tow 2006 Honda Accord
  • The Roadmaster base plate kit # 1545-1 comes with full installation instructions. I will send you a .pdf copy in a separate email. According to my research, the 2006 is capable of being flat towed, unless it is a hybrid model with the CVT transmission. Read and follow the guidelines listed in the emergency towing section of your owners manual. In addition to the base plates, you will need a tow bar, safety cables, wiring and in many states and Canadian provinces, a supplemental braking sys

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Engine Oil Cooler Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Accord V6
  • For your 2006 Honda Accord, I recommend the Hidden Hitch trailer hitch, # 60953. This hitch comes with the proper ball mount, a hitch pin, and clip. You will need to add a ball, # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter, or # 19258 for a 2 inch diameter. Look on the trailer coupler to determine which size ball it requires. For trailer wiring use # 118302. This is a simple T-One harness that plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring. I have included links to the installation details and install

  • Can a 3 Person 1998 Seadoo STI be Towed with a 2006 Honda Accord and Hidden Hitch # 60953
  • You will need to check the vehicle owners manual for your vehicles towing capacities and the gross weight and tongue weight of your trailer. Your trailer will need to be within the capacities of the lowest rated item, either the hitch or the vehicle. The tongue weight of the trailer would definitely need to be below 200 pounds and the gross trailer weight would need to be below 2,000 pounds for the hitch. If the vehicle capacities are lower you will have to abide by those capacities. Some

  • Intermittent Brake Lights Using The Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness # 118302 On A 2006 Honda Accord
  • I would check the ground connections on the vehicle and the trailer. A weak ground is just strong enough to provide some lighting functions, but not all of the functions. On the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, part # 118302, there will be a white wire with a ring terminal on it. You will want to make sure that it is connected to a good, clean ground on the vehicle. On the trailer you will want to make sure the white wire on the 4-way trailer connector is connected to a good, clean ground on

  • Does Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Need Stabilizing Straps for a Bike Rack on a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe
  • The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 24787, for your 2006 Honda Accord Coupe, does not require additional straps when using a non-trailer load such as a bike rack, but it is not a bad idea to add them for extra support and stabilization. You can use something as simple as a Bungee Cord, like # 3031DAT. With a Class I trailer hitch like # 24787, you must choose the bike rack very carefully as the hitch only has a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. I recommend a light weight 2 bike rack like the Kuat
