Westin Tube Step Installation - 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD

Today on this 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 series regular cab, we are going to be installing the Westin tube steps part number 23-1405. Okay, we are taking a look here at the driver side of the vehicle. And we want to go ahead and point out the body mounting bolts that are located just underneath the cab of the vehicle and that is what our tube steps are going to be attaching to. We have one here at the front we are going to be using and it is just rearward of the front tire and just about even with the front of the driver side door. And then we have one at the rear which is just forward of the rear edge of the driver side door as well. 0:35

Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 GMC Sierra

Today we are going to be installing Hide-a-Goose part number 9465-4434 on a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500. The first thing we want to do is to go ahead and lower the spare tire. That will give us a lot more room to install the gooseneck system. The second step is to go ahead and cut out a section of the heat shield, which is basically forward of the axle in between the two hat channels, which is basically parallel to the gas tank as well. We need to go ahead and cut that section out to allow us to get the crossmembers into place. OK, with that section of the heat shield removed, we want to next go inside the bed. And we are going to go ahead and mark and then drill our hole for the opening in the Hide-a-Goose system. You want to check with your directions to verify the appropriate dimension that you are going to be drilling from. On this particular short-bed model, we are going to go ahead and mark from the end of the bed at 44-1/2 inches, and then we just want to center that in between the two wheel wells, which will land us right in the center of this rib here. And with my dimensions marked out, I am just going to go ahead and center punch that location, and then we are going to go ahead and drill out our 3-1/2 inch hole.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 GMC Sierra

Today we are going to install a 4-pole and 7-pole connector by Hoppy, part number 30955, on a 2006 GMC Sierra. This wiring connector that we are installing goes right into the factory connector. So I would start with lowering the spare tire for good visibility. You are going to want to take the existing wiring down so you can use this excess slack to run it to the bumper so you can mount the connector. Once you get the wiring harness taken down and the cap pulled off, then you are going to need to mount your mounting bracket to the bumper. Once you find a good location, mount the bracket with the self-tapping screws.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 GMC Sierra

Today we are going to install a Curt hitch, part number 13322, on a 2006 GMC Sierra. We lowered the spare tire, just so we have more room to work with. And I will go ahead and point out all the mounting locations which we are going to use for the hitch. There is an existing bolt here on the frame rail, and it is on both sides. And then we are going to use the bolt right behind it this is where we are going to have to install hardware. And then in the center there are two more mounting locations on the hitch, and these are already threaded, so this should be pretty straightforward.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendations For a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500
  • We have several suspension enhancement systems available for your 2006 GMC Sierra 3500. I have linked our page which will give you a variety of suspension offerings. We do offer SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer # SSA10 which will enhance your factory springs, however, we do not sell replacement leaf spring for vehicles. This enhancement unit bolts above your existing factory springs, there is no drilling required. To give you an idea about the installation, I have attached a short video of

  • After speaking with my contact at Truck Luggage I was informed that Truck Luggage Ski Rack # TL-606 will hold the Thule Ski Carrier # TH92725 without issue. The reason it is rated for either 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards is the way Truck Luggage measured the ski rack. Truck Luggage laid the skis side by side and to stay on the safe side decided that is what it was rated. It was the same process for the snowboards. My contact at Truck Luggage continued with saying that it is an extremel

  • What Does an OC Error Code Mean on a Valley Journey HD Trailer Brake Controller
  • A flashing OC message on the Valley Journey HD brake controller means that the trailer brake circuit is lost or intermittent. With no trailer connected, the brake controller might think there is a connection for some reason. It will also do this for a few moments after the brake circuit (trailer) is disconnected. Check for any loose wires under the dash. I also recommend cleaning the vehicle and trailer connectors as dirt or corrosion could be causing the problem. Also try sliding the manual

  • NC Error Message on Trailer Brake Controller Installed on a 2006 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel
  • First, check the trailer side connector for any dirt and corrosion and clean it out. Corrosion can also build up at the back of a connector where the wires attach, You referenced part # 90885-3020P but the 3020-P connector is not correct for a 2006 GMC Sierra. You would need to use # 3015-P. To test the trailer, after making sure the connector is clean and corrosion free, make sure the main ground is attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. Then check the brake magnet wiring

  • Where are the Holes Drilled in Truck Bed for Installation of Reese Elite 5th Wheel Rails
  • To determine where the holes will need to be drilled in the bed of your 2006 GMC Sierra you will get the cross members mounted and then run the pointed bolt through the bottom of the crossmember till it makes contact with the bottom of the truck bed and then it will make a dimple in the truck bed that will be the guide for drilling the holes for the pucks. As to where are the holes in the frame to tighten the brackets too, check out the picture I attached that I took from the installation ins

If you are going to do it by hand, start with a gob of grease in your palm and then press the bearing into the grease with some force. Next, insert your bearings and grease seal in the hub and mount your hub on your spindle. You should slowly pump grease into the spindle. As you are pumping the grease into the spindle, occasionally rotate the h

  • Is the HindSight Wireless Backup Camera, # 67300, Water Resistant
  • The HindSight Wireless Backup Camera, # 67300, is very similar to the Swift Hitch # 04928. Basically what protects both of them from the elements is the plastic cover that you see on the backs of the cameras. This makes them more weather resistant but not water proof. It would be a good idea to take either camera off when not in use to keep the elements from shortening its life span.

This 10-bolt base rail kit requires the following tools: 3/4 inch and 15/16 inch wrenches; 1/8 and 9/16 inch drill bits; a center punch, measuring tape and 3/8 Allen head socket. If it is an aftermarket 7-Way, it is possible that the plug was wired with a different layout, depending on the installer. You can use a circuit tester like part # 3808 to verify that your 7-Way is laid out the same way as the picture.

  • Installing K Source Custom Fit Towing Mirrors on a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD
  • Installation could have been affected by the weather. If you leave the towing mirrors, # KS80800, inside for a while so they are warm, that might be the solution. I have also included a link to a video that shows a typical installation that might help. Our installers clip the top on first then rotate it down to snap onto the bottom. Other than that there really is no trick to it. If your truck has extendable, telescoping, or full chrome mirrors, the K Source towing mirrors will not fit.

  • In-Bed Trailer Wiring Harness for a 5th Wheel Trailer on a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD
  • There are a couple of options to add 5th wheel wiring in the bed of your 2006 GMC Sierra with the factory installed 7-Way at the back of the truck. You can use # 20110 that you have referenced. Generally speaking, a 90 degree harness like # 51-97-410 is easier to install because the 90 degree angle at the back of the 7-Way fits easier than the straight out design of # 20110. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation for you to view.

  • Can a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Installed on a 2006 GMC Sierra with an Underbed Gooseneck Hitch
  • It is highly unlikely that you will be able to install a 5th wheel trailer hitch in your 2006 GMC Sierra as long as the gooseneck hitch is installed. The problem is that a 5th wheel hitch installation kit will require the same or some of the same mounting locations as the gooseneck hitch so they would interfere with each other. What you can do is use an adapter to fit on the 5th wheel trailer to use with the gooseneck hitch. There are a couple of different options. If you have a Lippert 0719
