So what we need to do is pull out the wiring harness from the vehicle that is stored above the spare tire, and its got plenty of lead, you just got to pull it out. We are going to leave this alone for now, and we are going to go ahead and mount our bracket to the bumper. It comes with two self tapping screws. Okay right now we will take our wiring harness, remove the cap and we will take our plug and just snap it into the bracket, and then make our connection behind it. And with that were already done.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Chevy Silverado

Today on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500, were going to install part number 15522 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when it is installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements that will help you out when selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the pin hitch hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 2-1/2 inches, and on this particular vehicle from the top of the receiver tube down to the ground is going to be 17 inches. Today on this 2006 Chevrolet 3500 Pickup truck we are going to install part number 5520-3015P. This kit consists of the activator three brake controller and the adapter cord to go between the tow package on the pickup truck and the brake controller. The first thing we are going to do is get access to the port for the brake controller and that is behind this panel right here. Remove this nut. There are two snaps on the side of the panel. Undo those and then pull the panel off. This port right here, the second from the left, is the one we need to use. We will take our adapter cord and plug it in right here. Make sure it snaps in and then put the cover back into place. 00:45



Westin Tube Step Installation - 2006 Chevrolet 2500 HD Series

Today at Etrailer.com we are going to be working on this 2006 Chevrolet 2500 HD Series. We are going to be installing part number 23-1950 from Westin. The first thing we are going to do is we are going to want to remove the forward, center, and rear most body mount bolts. That is where our tube steps are actually going to mount. The first thing we are going to do is remove the bolts. Now that we have got our bolts removed I am going to show you on the brackets themselves that they are actually marked per side and which location they go in. This one says PF so it is going to be Passenger Front. Then the center bracket is going to be the longer one. In the center of it, it is going to say PC for Passenger Center. Then on the rear bracket which is the medium size one is going to be marked with the letters PR for Passenger Rear. For the driver side it is going to have Driver Front, Driver Center, and Driver Rear marked on them. 01:01

First we will show you where the original factory harness plugs into. It is above the spare tire. That is the connector right here. And what happens is we just unclip it, pull it out, and we will plug it into the back of the wire harness adapter. So let us go ahead and unclip it. This cap comes off. Push this button down here, and we are ready to install our adapter harness.

Today we are going to install part number 13322 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. Looking at the passengers side, we are going to show you where the hitch mounts up. It is going to mount in this place right here, where the bolt is. Also, it will use this factory hole right here, and also it will use two holes in the bumper. We did a test fit on the hitch to make sure it clears the spare tire and if it does not, all you have got to do is lower the spare tire a little bit and move it out of the way. Next we will go ahead and just take off this rear bolt here - we will do one on each side - and then we can start installing the hitch.
