Today on our 2005 Dodge Dakota, well be installing the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System, part number TDDR05. Before we begin installing our new Timbrens, well first need to remove the old or manufacturers bump stop. To do this, well remove the fasteners securing it in place, tilting it down away from the frame and unhooking it out of the frame. Well go ahead and set the old bump stop aside as it will not be reinstalled. However, do hang on to the fastener as well use it with the new hardware. Now that we have the manufacturers bump stop out, we need to go ahead and take the weight off the rear suspension.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Dodge Dakota

Today on this 2005 Dodge Dakota, were going to install part number 55323 from Curt. First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the tail gate and get access to the tail lights so we can go ahead and remove them. Alright, with the tail light, well go ahead and disconnect the wiring harness from the light socket that has three wires going through. Now, well go ahead and leave that alone for now. Well take our 4-pole wiring harness and run it through the bottom of the tail light area, and also, well do the same thing with the T-connector half with the green wire. Well take the T-connector with the yellow wire and attach it back to the tail light and then the factory harness to the T wiring harness.

Next well go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 18 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is going to be 2-1/2 inches. Now well go ahead and remove the existing hole plug if its present on the center of the bumper.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Dodge Dakota

Today we will be working on a 2005 Dodge Dakota. We are going to install Tow Ready T-one connector, part number 118323. First we are going to start out on the passenger side by removing these two torque spit screws. We are removing these so that we can remove the taillight lens to access the taillight wire connector. Set those screws aside so we can reinstall them later. You may need to gently pry the light, the lens, away from the bed assembly as these plastic rivets can be difficult to remove. As you can see, we can now access the right rear taillight wiring connectors. We are going to disconnect these taillight connectors from the housing. It may be necessary to take a small pocket screw driver just to gently pry loose on the clip so that we do not break it. I am going to do this for both connectors. 1:05

  • Can a Transmission Cooler be Mounted 4 Inches In Front of Radiator on a 2005 Dodge Dakota
  • You can mount cooler # D13402 on the rail in front of the radiator on your 2005 Dodge Dakota. Ideally, for the most airflow efficiency for the fan pulling air through you would want it mounted against the radiator if there is space. But mounting it further out should not sacrifice too much of the supplemental cooling when at ideal or lower speeds. You will not need additional fittings to install the cooler on your truck. For a temperature gauge we have # D13009. The temperature sender in

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for Towing a 5800 GVW Heartland FX23 Camper
  • To haul a trailer with the weight you listed, I would recommend that you use a Strait-Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control, part # RP66073. When you pick out a weight distribution system, you want to make sure it has weight capacities that encompass the weight of the trailer you are planning on towing, as well as any weight that will be loaded behind the rear axle. With that being said, I can not safely recommend you pull a trailer that weighs more than what your manufacturer recommends

Proportional controllers offer the best and safest braking and reduce wear on both the towing vehicle and trailer brakes. I know that Coleman offers an adapter for their trailers, but I believe that it is a proprietary item that must be sourced through them. They would also be the best source for a wiring diagram. I would first start by using a circuit tester like part # 40376 to verify that the 4 way flat connector has been installed correctly
